Our last 2 Airstreams had the TV mounted on a wall that was a distance from the couch or sitting area. To hear the TV the sound had to be cranked up to the point of deafness if someone was standing by the TV.
I believe that I have cured this situation by adding a speaker kit offered by Bose. It has 2 very small speakers with a base box. The unit plugs into the headset outlet on the back of the TV. The base box (maybe called a boon box) is on the floor under the table. I have not decided if I want to mount the 2 small speakers or for the time being just lay them where we want them.
Its a fairly cheap answer to the problem of hearing the TV for those of us who have hearing problems.
Very creative solution to a small space/big sound problem.
Bose has solved our problem with the cr@ppy factory sound system.
IMHO... their Wave Radio/CD Changer sounds better than anything you could install in such a confined space, plus run the Television/blu-ray sound thru it and take it anywhere.
