Removing the fiberglass shower

I've got a 2018 Flying Cloud that has a dent in the rear upper quadrant that the only way to get to it from the inside (to push it out) would be to remove the shower assembly. I am just wondering how hard a job that is. Obviously, the other choice would be a dent puller but it is fairly large.

You might consider the “inner tube/ShopVac” method a few Forum users have used with some success. Or, perhaps buy a “paintless” dent removal kit that uses hot glue, tabs and small pullers.

Taking the inner skin off, especially in a shower, will cause premature hair loss, alcoholism and perhaps divorce.

Someone told me awhile back that the shower assembly is one of the first items installed. Might be kinda tough removing it without a whole lot of other stuff coming out.

I will have to search the inner tube/ShopVac method I am not familiar. The local pro dent remover in this area says its to big to use that method. Unfortunately, as far as hair loss and alcoholism all ready there and I don't want to get divorced https://www.airforums.com/forums/images/smilies/lol.gif

Thanks

Maybe I'll just learn to live with the dent while I save up to get it repairedhttps://www.airforums.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

If you are talking about the curved upper corner panels, I believe it would be easier to drill out the necessary rivets and remove the damage one. Your trailer was assembled with seal tape under the edges where adjacent panels lap. You can order new panels or straighten out the bent one(s) with an English Wheel. Look that up on line. They are really fun to work with and you can do amazing things with them.

Pulling the shower is risky business. I had mine pulled for floor repairs on a 2008. I had a great shop do the work. They told me 50/50 it would crack on removal. It survived fortunately. I was told that it was like $2k to replace it if it cracks at the time.

To all,

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. I checked out the plywood/shop vac method and I think that is where I am going to start. If that is unsuccessful I might try my hand at drilling out the rivets and removing the panel. Unfortunately, I have some mechanical skills but riveting and sheet metal work so far is not in my repertoire. Would this be a project for a novice?
