Where do you store large bottles?

I'm sure someone has the perfect solution. How to store large bottles. To put a finer point on it, liquor bottles.
I currently slide them into a thick wool sock like you'd picture a lumberjack wearing, and laying them in a bin overhead of the sink. But it's not a very elegant solution. I'd like to store them upright in a bin, but none of the cabinets seem to be sized right. Under the bed in a Sterlite plastic bin? I don't have the floor space for an Ottoman or some extra furniture.

We store them in the shower when we’re moving and then on the floor of the closet when we get to our destination.

I buy Knob Creek in the rectangular bottle one bottle at a time. Most I will have on board at one time is two They are short enough to store in several places. Box wine.

In general we store large or heavy bottles on their side in the drawer under the sofa in the front of the trailer. I made a modification to the floor of the drawer so that it wil take heavy loads.

They make sleeves for beer-sized and wine bottles, kind of a foamey, cushioney material, that work great and allow you to store upright or on its side.

I think I bought mine at one of the large liquor stores.

Bottle storage

I had a sheet metal five compartment "box" made at a local heating and AC business. Holds five standard wine/liquor bottles. On one of the four sides of each separate box added a 1/2" thick Styrofoam. With same Styrofoam on the bottom. Screwed to the floor of a closet. Work like a dream

a kernel of an idea involves removing the tiny trash bin, then using that space for a sliding(?) drawer to hold bottles in a divided or padded tray. The trash can would be replaced by a step can 45ish liter.
I'd have to think I won't be punting the trash can every time I move.
(Then I could finally use that "trailer trash" decal!)

The 26' has the U dinning, so I understand. The picture with the metal bins in the storage closet seems pretty good also. We just use a wine box with seperators and store under the table, but we are in the 28'. It also has a storage compartment under the L seat in the L couch, in front of water heater that I use for the extra storage. (Thats a little more elegant) My friend uses his bin under the couch in his 25'; another friend uses the drawer in his 23 for liquor storage. Just got to keep them insulated so they don't break from clanging together...

When we are on the road at "Costco" somewhere getting a "good deal" on wine or liquor, we will get a second wine case using the bottle seperators and store that box between the twin beds by the night stand. (like last month visiting Kentucky on way to Alumalina) We also store in the back seat from time to time while traveling...put white wines in the cooler in the truck bed with the beer and soft drinks. Just don't forget to keep the wines from getting too warm/hot in the back seat or the AS.

Another option for some may be, you need to drink more and faster to help lighten the load! But, DW may have something to say about that!

We just use an overhead cupboard as a liquor cabinet. Just keep the cupboard full so they can’t tip over and don’t buy any extremely tall bottles. Regular tall bottles fit fine at the high point of the cupboard. It is a little bit of a pain because the shorter bottles like bourbon often have to go in the back row. We don’t use any padding and have never had an issue with breakage. Wine is stored in old cardboard case boxes in the bottom of a wardrobe closet.
Total Wine has a good selection of sizes for many things, so if you want just a small bottle of Aperol for instance, they have that.

You didn't get the cabinet with the four, upright beverage bottle pull drawer? Removing the separator allows four soft drink liter bottles to be stores as well. Apologies, pic rotation is always tricky.

AkNate, I don't think I would be the only one to think you are a brave man. Considering the threads about quality control and how small the screws are that Airstream sometimes uses that's a lot of weight up in that cabinet. That would be one drunk Airstream if your earthquake on wheels let loose of that cabinet on the way down the road :-)

We use the end cabinet that meets the bathroom wall, which I estimated to be the strongest since it is screwed through the side as well as hung to the ceiling. No issues so far with around 30k miles towing, including up and down to Alaska. Of course that is no guarantee it can’t collapse tomorrow and I take no responsibility if someone follows suit and stores their Pappy up there and the whole thing comes crashing down.

We have a 2014 25' FC fb. The bed lifts and has storage underneath. We have several plastic bins under the bed. One is the designated "liquor bin". We pack around the bottles to keep them from bouncing.
In case of breakage, any liquid would remain in the bins instead of ending up on the floor.

Interestingly, we have a "liquor cabinet" in our 2017 fc 19cb. It is under the fridge in the drop down skinny cabinet. The height of the cabinet changes in the back of it, it raises a few inches, just wide enough to have wine bottles (or scotch, or champagne, or olive oil) to stand up & cannot possibly tip over. I put little pieces of cardboard in between bottles to prevent clanking. Life is good!

plastic milk crate, using a divider insert from the box liquor is shipped in, stored on the floor in the closet. We would never put that much weight in an overhead cabinet
