12v Pump to pump water from auxiliary cans into freshwater inlet?

I'm looking for a reliable, but inexpensive, 12v pump that I can run off of my TV battery to pump water from my 7 gallon plastic auxiliary water container into the freshwater inlet on the Trailer.

Any recommendations?

I learned a simple trick to fill the water on my last outing. My neighbor just used a siphon hose to transfer water from the jug to the camper. Get a six foot (approximate) length of water hose or clear vinyl tubing ( https://www.homedepot.com/p/UDP-3-8-...7008/304185162 ), elevate the jug higher than the fill opening on the Airstream, put the hose into the water jug and pull it out while holding your thumb over the end of the hose and the water will siphon the jug dry and fill your Airstream.

My neighbor used a ladder with a closet pole to elevate the jug. You could use the tailgate of your pickup, the picnic table . . . There's many ways to elevate the jug.

I use a small pump that is run by a cordless drill. A 3 foot length of garden hose on each end of the pump works great and is fast. Called a "Drill Pump" and $10.28 at Home Depot. 200 Gallon/hour capacity. Fast and easy, ane easy to store.

I use a Harbor Freight 12v pump and a short loop of hose stored in the fridge compartment with a manual switch. I use a short bit of hose to run down to a blue 5 gallon jerry can. I have a 27 FB and i'll take pictures of the set up tomorrow.

I use a 40 gallon bladder that folds up to the size of a laptop bag. I use an old AS "smart" water pump which lost its "brains" to transfer.

I use a Ryobi transfer pump. It is battery or 120v. Since I have Ryobi cordless drill, fan and other stuff it fits in. It pumps just like any other transfer pump, but the battery mode is nice and convenient.

I use 2 of these collapsible 5 gallon water jugs.

and I replace the original nozzle with this nozzle.

I can empty the 5 gallons in about a minute or less.

I rigged a 5 gallon blue water jug with a hose connection. I was going to use a 12v pump but Last trip out I filled the container and then set it on a storage box I carry gear in on the tail gate of the truck. I had it connected to my regular water hose. I then let gravity do the job and in about 5-10min the jug was emptied into my trailer tank !!
Perfect..... as long as your jug is above your trailer fill level gravity work great from the truck. You can also walk away and let it do the job....no hassle.

I installed this a few years ago in our 27FB and it works well. A Harbor Freight 12volt transfer pump like this one https://www.harborfreight.com/12v-dc...gph-63324.html in my fridge compartment wired into the 12 volt fridge circuit with a spst switch. I cut up a white potable water hose and connected it to the pump in a loop. The long end when disconnected just fits into the fresh water inlet when extended. I used the male end of the hose as male to bare end for the suction side and cut it to just reach the bottom of my 5 gal jerry can. I store this piece of hose where it's clean and dry in the trailer. I bring water in the jerry can and transfer into the freshwater inlet using the pump. I also have a 60 gal bladder (I haven't used it yet) for boondocking. It fits in a small box. I keep the Jerry can and bladder under the dinette seating compartments. Note when I perform my annual bleach disinfection of the water systems, I also treat the jerry can and pump the bleached water through the system as described. When camping I never fill the jerry can directly, water always passes through my inline culligan filter whether into the fresh fill, the city water connection or the jerry can hopefully avoiding contaminants. So far, so good. - Brad

Recognizing that the pressure switches sometimes fail on the normal water pumps in RVs, I went to an Airstream dealer and asked if they had any water pumps with failed switches (I don't need the high pressure shutoff for transferring water). It turned out they had an almost new pump, with a faulty pressure switch that they just game me free.


Hooked up appropriate tubing, and it works great.

I picked up an identical pump to the one that is inside of my Airstream. That way if the water pump in the Airstream were to fail I have a replacement already in hand. I run it with a flexible 12 GA cable that has a switch and a connector that takes advantage of the solar panel connector on the side of the battery box (or you could just use two alligator clips to the battery terminals).

This pump is designed for intermittent duty only. But it works to pump my 5 gallon container without too much strain (a little over 1 minute to empty). I went with clear potable water safe flexible hoses. Don't run it dry for more than a few seconds. After the trip, I always run some home tap water through the pump so it has some chlorine in the water trapped in the pump.

I carried this when a buddy and I took dual sports into the back country. I had a 5 gal tank and he had a 2.7 gal tank so I always figured I'd be passing gas
Never needed it but it moved a lot of liquid without power and had options. Shaker valve, bulb, long hose.

I would install mine like supertrooper, but they put my fill door curbside. Why????, is beyond me......

I use the bladder system that CW sells. Just put it on your roof of your TV, fill it and put the hose in your water fill and fill it up. The only draw back is being careful when transporting the bladder on your roof and driving.
