We converted twin beds into a residential king size bed
We used a Morgedal Ikea king size foam bed on a platform. See video for details.

Nice. Airstream should offer that as an option from the factory.... I'd put some book cases or small ledges on the sides so you have a place for books, a drink / cup, your phone, etc..
