Hi All
New to this but we have been spectating for several years!
We have just bought an Airstream which appears to be a 67 Overlander from a guy in Phoenix Arizona. The trailer seems to be in good condition externally and has most of its original interior.
I have been looking for door to port quotes for shipping to the UK from LA and at $8000 plus haulage to port they are extortionate.
We need help with transport on a flatbed tow truck to the East Coast as the shipping seems to be more reasonably priced. Alternatively a bumper pull would be ok but the guy we bought it off isn't willing to help us at all and we are not sure of the condition of the running gear. The trailer and running gear would need to be checked by someone who is familiar with Airstreams for safety first
We would be grateful for any help or advice and of course be willing to pay for any help given to get us to the port
Hi Mac
Thanks for that! I was just setting up a profile on uship. It's just all so frustrating! The shipping companies are difficult to talk to and I think they have difficulty with my accent. It doesn't help that being new to this we have no contacts being so far away. It's so easy to be ripped off.
That's really why I posted as it is the exact opposite on here Everyone is so helpful and experience goes a long way to getting things sorted
Thanks again
James
In the past I have brought trailers from the West Coast to Houston TX to ship to England. I usually brought them to the Port Arthur where the shipping company took over. If interested, I may be able to help towing it on the road in the next couple of weeks. Drop me an message if this helps.
