Hello Streamers!!

I have had my '60 Tradewind for about two years now and haven't done much yet. Getting ready to use it next season, so the mild resto begins. I will be looking for lots of advise here and hope to help out anyway I can. Looking forward to meeting fellow streamers!! Thanks

My first problem to takle is the wiring, converter issues. Someone rewired the trailer using household wire and ran it along the floor exposed. Very uncool!! I am going to try to see if I can utilize some of the original wiring without having to start pulling off interior panels. I want to get a new converter, but don't know what would be best, and thoughts? Thanks

Welcome to the forums and early TradeWind ownership. I put in a General Dynamics InteliPower charger with Charge Wizard and love its simplicity. Post some pictures, we love pictures. I sent you a PM (private message) about your TradeWind in hopes of getting yours listed in my registry.

Hi RC, and welcome.

The search feature of this forum will be your best resource as many of the restor issues have already been hashed out here.

Intellicharge and Paralax are 2 of the top brands of converters. It's all about 3 stage charges. As for the wiring, I've seen sparking marks between the walls on older units. You may want to consider rewiring

Enjoy the great project

Wow ~ another 1960 Tradewind. How cool is that!

RC, this forum is packed with info. Check the Forum Listings and scroll down to the restoration section. Browsing through those sub-forums helped me lots when I first got my Tradewind.

On wiring I'm no expert. I still have the original separate 12V and 110 wiring in mine, but I suspect I have spark marks between my skin. Most of those era do. I agree with Artstream. If you have the opportunity and resources, rewire is the way to go.
