Buenos dias,

We do not have a trailer yet and are in the process of moving back to the States from Mexico. We really don’t know where we want to settle so our plan is to purchase an Airstream and travel a little to determine where old folks shine. When thinking of travel trailers, there is only one name, AIRSTREAM but the dilemma is what to haul it with so we will be searching the forum for guidance.

Hasta Pronto,

Welcome to the forum toocrazy!

What size Airstream are you thinking about getting? Any thoughts about going vintage, new, gently used? How many is "we"?

If you're ready to sift through a couple dozen, well-intentioned, diametrically opposed opinions on all things Airstream you've come to the right place amigo!

Ciao, mistral blue

welcome from the frozen north...

welcome from the frozen north, michigan. i think you need to decide what size and model of airstream will work for you and then pick a towing vehicle. the reason for this is i believe it will be easier to find a tow vehicle than it will be to find an airstream trailer. they are out there, but many of them are pretty pricey. of course, if money is no object, than you can do it wither way. in any case, you will be getting the best trailer ever on the market and any one you get will be a treasure in it's own way! good luck! airstreamers rock!

Welcome to the forum. We are in Sunny southwest Florida, and there are plenty of places to put the A/S once you get one. As for towing guidance, I will leave that to the experts on the forum. Just wanted to say welcome.

It seems like a lot of people start with a smaller trailer and then move up in size. Soo sit and visualize your activities and lifestyle before you commit. Good luck.

Buenas tardes to you all,

Gracias por el weclome caliente. (Thanks for the warm welcome) We don’t have an Airstream dealer close so we are surfing the Internet at this point. We are leaning towards a new 25’ Safari FB twin with the LS option but are open to pre-own if FB-twin is in good condition. We are somewhat confused about the wrap-around windows and what models have them. We’ve been reading the forum trying to educate ourselves on the weight formulas to determine the TV. When we first saw the “TV” we thought television but quickly realized it was for tow vehicle so we are learning.

The 2 vehicles under discussion are the Dodge Durango, 5.7 liter Hemi-V8 (8,950 lbs.) or the Toyota Tundra 381-horsepower 5.7-liter V8 10,800 lbs. If you come away from the forum with anything, it’s the important factor of the tow vehicle. We know we have many more nights of reading ahead of us before we bite the bullet and thank you again for the warm welcome.

Welcome, toocrazy. I've been lusting after the new Tundra myself. Best wishes with your search.
