Cargo Weatherstrip?

Hello, I picked up a 1982 Turbo Diesel 280 which had been in Florida most of the time. A lot of the window seals are dried up and brittle. I see replacements out there, Expensive (overpriced) but available.

I ended up driving through the mountains in Va and Pa during a NorEaster (side note:heavy Rain, bad wiper linkage, don't mix) in April, I had some items stored in the cargo bays along the way, the cargo bays got very wet. I had a basin in the front one drivers side, it collected a few inches of water in it.

There appears to be no seal around the door/hatch, is this correct?
Do these storage areas all get wet?

I expect some water to mAke it through the bottom hinge But to make it into a 6" deep basin?

I did a quick search but didn't see any posts on this, I hope I'm not asking repeat questions.

Regards, Art

Welcome to the forums!

There actually should be a gasket around the inside edge of the exterior doors. I have found that Vintage Trailer Supply - Vintage travel trailer parts and supplies! has a good selection reasonably priced.

Hi Art and Melcome!

If you don't find what you need at VTS, you can check here: McMaster-Carr They have a very nice selection or rubber trims and mouldings available.

Your entrance door and storage compartments all use the same triangular shaped gasket.

Our part number is 45308.

The gasket must be install with "super weatherstrip adhesive."
