The formula consist of these ingreditions:
1/3 Ammonia, 1/3 Alcohol, 1/3 Water and,
for each gallon of mixture, add a cap of liquid soap.(Joy, etc.)
This works extremely well on getting Zolatone finis cleaned~
plus windows as well..

Wow - nice find! I'm a little (just a little) jealous. Mine does not have the clearance lights not the inside/outsie propane lights. Hurmpf. You must have the delux version.

I may have the bottom cover for the water heater. Let me know if you need it and I'll go check. The other thing I noticed was different was the water tank. Mine is in the middle of that space whereas your's looks to be closer to the wall.

My evil twin wouldn't like to hear that~ But, it's a nice thought.
I may take you up on that offer of the bottom cover. The original one, I found tucked away, had been ran over..Not a real pretty thing..
I have notice that also about the water tank and, came to the conclusion these things can be moved according to the layout. (??)
You'd never guess what I paid for this baby. (I'll never say..lol)
It was as close to a steal as you might hope for..

Actually, I think the clearance lights are an Ohio thing...as were "furnances vs heaters" and a whole bunch of other differences. We have several '64 GlobeTrotters that attend the Rocky Mountain VAC Rally each year, we always get a kick out of how different each one is. You may find this ol' thread more interesting now that you have one "CA vs OH" as it describes some the '64 GT differences I have observed.

The Humprey Lamp was a $20.00 option (which we don't have) as was the $106.25 spare wheel/tire & bracket on the tongue (which we do have).

BTW...the nasty clearcoat was a $19.00 option, heck, I spent more than that on the stripper to get rid of it!

Your absolutely correct in saying, it means "MORE" now`
WOW..So many variations~Sorta blows the mind..
Here's a few that I found on this one..
No furnance..ever~!! (The standard openings were covered at the factory.)
Fresh water in-line filter..(Installed in closet next to the shower stall wall.)
No medicine cabinet in bathroom. ??
The mirror does pull out..(Is that normal?)
4 Burner Magic Chef stove. (Some had 3 ?)
Hmm, alot of differences for sure~!!

Today is just unpacking the goodies ordered from InLandRV..
Thanks Andy & staff~!
One of the things I installed right away was,
"the outside cutesy light's len~"
Just to show you what happens when you use the WRONG size bulb. (Bulb incorrectly used was a dual-filament type)
A picture of the old len, melted & somewhat baked~!
The new one installed.
Geez, you'd think people would just know better~!!

Mine's an Ohio, no clearance lights. I have a 4 burner stove. The mirror is supposed to pull out. Medicine cabinet would be in the upper rear, road side cabinet. Maybe that was removed as it was a standard in the sales brochure? I have no water filter but I do have a furnace (which I've update). What cheapos - I have the expensive spare tire mount but no inside/outside propane lights!

I have an PDF of the sales brochure if you don't already have it - I could send it to you. Still haven't dug out the old heater door...

Thanks for the offer.. Shari has provided me with a copy and, I downloaded it to my .pdf files for future references.
From what I gathered in quick reading, only certain GT's had the furnaces installed. Seems it was a regional thing, which makes sense given the era.
I think the spare tire mount looks kewl~!
Spend the rest of the day installing new weather stripping on the main door, and, several windows.
Whenever you find the lower half of the water heater door will be fine.
By any chance, you wouldn't happen to have a spare window operator? (for use on one of the three side windows.)
I hate to get on someone's case but, if you saw the things I'm going around redoing that one of the PO's did..You'd be wonder some of the same thoughts I have for the last several days`..(That light bulb capper was small stuff in comparison~!!)

No I don't but believe it or not I found them two years ago at an small RV center for pretty cheap. I wish now I would have brought them out. BTW, Camping World's are too small.

Do you have the orignal hangers for the shower curtain. I've always been curious as to what they look like. My track is much wider than the curtain track. I've rigged something up with two different hagers, my dermal (how do you spell that!) tool and some super glue.

Dermal Tool is correct`

I do believe the curtain hanger is original and correct for this unit.
Does your' curtain track follow the contour of the end cap?
I'll take several photos for you..Hope they're of some help..

I have the same shower curtain track in my 65 GT except it is attached to a piece of veneer curved to the ceiling, not attached directly to the ceiling.

Same hangers also. Same rust on them too.

If what you are trying to locate is the operator mechanism, they are still available new - - or at least were two years ago. Ace Fogdall RV in Cedar Falls, Iowa replaced operators on several windows on my '64 Overlander which I am fairly certain used the same operators as the GT. It might be worth an E-Mail to Florence and Christi in the parts department to see if they are still available. You can find Ace Fogdall RV at:

One thing I've learned is that; things change from year to year...
For example>
I was able to locate the window operator for a '65, but upon closer exmination, this turned out to be..not the same as for the 64..

Thanks for your confirmation~I suspect since this ceiling had been painted..(Surely the factory never "painted" any with that color~~!) it's possible that piece was not reinstalled.
I have so many little projects, in the way of cleaning up this poor lil unit~
For example:
I was asking about locating a window operator~
One of the PO's in the past, God Bless him..

, had this window operator break on him..So instead of just replacing it, he put heavy, black tar on the base of the window casement to keep it shut~!~!~

Of course, your truly cleaned it out, only to discover that the wndow operator is broken..Grrrrr...

We just got whoop hard by the most horrific lighting storm..Lighting strike nearby took out my APC but, I switched the puter sys. over to the spare one. Whew, I'd hate to think what could've happened to the puter sys. without that APC for protection..
GOOD NEWS~!
All the weatherstripping work on the 64 GT paid off.. just a few water drops on the inside of one window..That has more to do with with a small 1/2 inch gap in the rubber strips at the base of the Lexan'..( strips used to hold the Lexan in place..)
I'm impressed considering it POURED DOWN~!~

heh, heh. I saw it coming...was out, and saw a very forboding looking line of black clouds heading our way. It looked certain that we'd be hammered...but it just missed us. all we got were a few fat raindrops and a couple of gusts. we did get some steadier/lighter showers later. and its raining now, after the weatherman assured me it would stop.

anyway...got any tricks for getting the old gaskets off the windows? I bought all the material..did a little bit last fall, but I found getting the old gasket off quite tedious. that glue does NOT want to let go. xylene...wire brush...more xylene...more wirebrush...sandpaper...more xylene...wear down a couple of wirebrushes on the dremel...complaints from upstairs about the xylene stinking up the whole house

I wonder if a little heat would soften it up, or if it is impervious.....

I hear you..Man, you're so right..It just won't let go..
What I did was peel it off slowly..Then, afterwards..used Citristrip, laid that down, and left it for abt 10 min..wiped right off..
Plus, I found a source for new window..LEXAN, 1/8in thick for replacement..cost 16$ per window~!~ I can get it in "smoky grey"..
Do you need any??

I don't think I have the window problem that you 60's owners have...first of all, my windows are in good shape (except for the gaskets

). AFAIK, the glass doesn't have any curve to it. at least, I don't think it does...ought to be able to get a piece cut almost anywhere, should the need ever arise. The front window (the only one I've taken out and actually replaced the gasket) is flat. what a project for something so silly.

I also did the entry door, and that, of course, has to stay attached to the trailer. but I'd like to pop out the other windows one at a time and get it done. Not that I have any leaks...at least not that I can see. drafts? yes. but water cant get inside the opening unless its really driven. the design of the frame, etc, etc.

It is, plus..it smells better~!~!
I swear this stuff never fails to amazes me...My results so far have been fairly good..

You will have to peel off any rubber gaskets before you use it..
For best results..
About the windows..I agree, it's so darn silly what you have to go thru,
just to do about any kind of work..

It's like..Grrrrr, who designed this?? lmao

well, the glue is supposed to stick...and it does. that's the good part. if they made the gasket so it would last as long as the glue does...we wouldn't have this problem!
