Refrigerator

Hey Guys
I need to purchase a 6CF Refridge for my 1978 25 ft Airstream Tradewinds, need some direction in the model #'s that will fit, and from yall which models work the best.
Prefer Gas / Electric.
This AS has an electric model in place of the original Fridge, and I would love to have as close to original as possible.
Any comments would be appreciated.

The best way to be sure of fit is to measure the physical space that the refrigerator is going to go into, and then start the hunt for a fridge that will fit in that spot. It may not be too easy to find an exact match, and you will have to go with something that will be as close as possible.

As to models, I am sure that there are horror stories that can be found with any manufacturer, but Dometic was used when your trailer was built, and might be a good place to start for something that is the closest fit.

Prepare yourself for sticker shock when looking at new ones!

Good Luck!

Been there, Done That!!! Sticker Price, ouch!
I was hoping that someone had already done the hard work where I could profit from their Mistakes. I took measurements a little while ago and now will checkout the specs on some of the web sites.

The Dometic web site has a chart that lists the outside dimensions of all their units.

Atwood has a new line of reefers that use helium instead of an ammonia solution as the cooling medium. Said to be safer but certainly not cheaper.
