2018 33 Classic Exterior Panel Warp

Exterior panel warping and indentations on both sides near axles.
I think the "warping" is extreme, so does the dealer. The dealer attempted
repair but the attempt failed. Airstream reply is the aluminum wrinkle is
typical to larger units. I'm not buying it and have concerns of potential
underlying structural issues. Do any other owners share this experience ?

A 2018 must still be under warranty. My suggestion: take it to JC for repairs. If your dealer didn’t fix it properly the factory will. If there’s structural damage they’ll find it. Good luck.

warp on side

We have a 34' AS and it seams like all the 34 footers have a warp on the driver side in front of the axle.

Take it back to the factory. It seems extreme. It likely is poor design of the underlying structure than damage to the structure.

Looking at your location JC seems like a expensive option 5-6nights each way a few nights hotel while they work $6-700 in fuel each way (2200miles)... rv sites for 10-12 nights of travelling . A trip could easily cost $2000-3000?? and take more than 2 weeks.
In the winter it sounds like a fun trip too!! ..... LOL.
Perhaps contact them and register your problem and see what they say ??

A slight flex is apparent on both sides of our 2014 31' Classic behind the wheel well. Our modification shop added some extra rivets in that area as he has seen this mild warping issue for years.

The 33 model initially had a real tongue weight over 1,400 pounds which exceeded the ratings of many pickup hitch receivers.

My 2007 too. Always been there. Switz, can you give me details in the rivet placement?

The factory has agreed to have a look at it. Appointment is in May which sort of works for us traveling from Florida through North Carolina and Tennessee and now Ohio working our way to Michigan and eventually Chicago.

Tongue weight measured 1186. That is over a Class IV hitch rating and the capacity

of many light weight tow vehicles. We tow with a Chevy 3500 HD DRW Diesel so we

are well covered on all tow vehicle ratings. We weighed in at 18,080 Gross Combined and we're rated at 31,100.

We will be monitoring our exterior panel profile for some time. Any additional input
may be helpful. Thank you all for your response.

Sorry for the delay. Arrows point to added rivets on our 2014 31' Classic. Done on both sides.
