Just got back from New England today. Woke up on Monday in Henniker, NH and it was -17, and drove to Manchester, VT where it had been -25.

Lynn,

Pretty much the same forecast here. NYC has had more than twice the snow we've had this winter. Ski New York City!

Did you get the oil changed?

Blizzard, snow, preceded by ice starting tomorrow morning in SW Missouri. Supposed to break a 1903 record. 16-20" forecast - with a state of emergency going into effect - and - predictions for wide spread power outages........oh good!!! Didn't get a generator yet........not on the budget this winter - will be next summer!!!!!!!

Yep, on Maria's car. I was going to do the truck yesterday, but we decided that it would be wisest to make a dash for Taos (food shopping) before the storm started closing in.

It's 20 degrees but a big storm is supposed to be coming and expected to hit tonight. Blizzard or megastorm warnings in 9 states with 2 feet of snow expected to fall in Chicago. We'll see possibly by this evening what is in store for Michigan.

It was a bit colder this morning than the weather channel anticipated: It was around -2F, about 8" of the white stuff on the ground so far. Just warm enough to be relatively comfortable on the tractor (only cold fingers). It's plowed, and we moved one vehicle to the front, given that there's more snow in the forecast. Now if we can get heavy snow to stay away from here in the next day, we'll be in excellent shape.

It was -3˚ around 4 am and I went back to sleep. A friends said it was -6˚ when he looked at his thermometer sometime this morning. It's 3.4˚ now and supposed to be -12˚ tomorrow morning. I get some evil pleasure out of seeing it should be -29˚ in Angel Fire tomorrow morning—happy times Lynn.

Central Texas is supposed to be "moderate". 16F at 6:00 this am. In the 30's all day!! For us, that's just miserable stay indoors weather.

In 1989 I lost 17,000 citrus trees in the lower Rio Grande Valley here in Texas. Once in a hundred years they said about that freeze. Tonight they are forecasting a freeze similar, if not worse. So, I have seen two of those hundred year freezes....I am feeling quite old this evening. (Yes, I replanted all 17,000 trees.)

Freezing here now in Ajo with the wind chill. Our potable hose froze-up last night. Hey, we're on the deep desert, what's going on?
