Correct Toilet ?

Anyone know the correct toilet for a 1974 Argosy 24' and where I could get one. The P.O. installed a Thetford and it is too tall so He removed the back pad and the toilet cover to make it fit.

Thumbs up Have the same Argosy

Hello .. We have the same Argosy..as your 1975 26'.. love the layout.. and we are in the same predicament.. needing a new toilet.. and do not want to loose the backrest for the storage.. right now awaiting a new toilet .. probably will go with a Aquamagic.. Annie

From your photo, it looks like the installation in your coach is very similar to that in my '78 Minuet. My Airstream dealer replaced the original Thetford toilet with a new Low-Profile Thetford Bravura (closest in dimensions to the original) - - it is slightly taller than the original but it does permit the backpad to remain and operate as a storage cubby - - the Minuet didn't have a toilet enclosure (at least not anything approaching the complexity of the enclosure used in my '64 Overlander).

The one thing that was necessary with the new toilet was modifying the base over the holding tank. The Bravura has a larger "footprint" and required extending the black water holding tank enclosure box by a little more than an inch to provide some additional suport for the base of the toilet. I should be able to post a photo of the installation tomorrow if the weather clears.

Try a Sealand

We replace our thetford auquamagic in our minuet with a porcelin Dometic Sealand model number 111. It is a low model the number 110 is higher profile. we were able to prserve the "hidden compartment" and the installation was fairly simple. It comes in white and bone.

we tried several other models including the bravura - none of them fit. Your local rv parts place can order you one. Good luck.
