We've been monitoring the weather channel and watching the skies. Looks like it is coming this way. We're getting battened down here. Thanks for the heads up.

I was thinking about all of you out there in Q. We sure had some wind and rain yesterday here in the South East Valley. Next door in Chandler they were recording 49 MPH winds. Thankfully we had enough rain to soak the desert floor or we would have had a major dust storm rolling in off of the Gila Reservation. Stay dry and keep the reports coming in.

So, where else but Q can you find a couple of 4CU members standing out in the REALLY windy rain after dark, making pointed comments to each other about wearing shorts and standing out in the rain after dark...?oh, wait, that could be ANY 4CU outing...
The Tyson Wash branch of the Colorado River has become puddles, this am...the wire flamingo(blown over-iron gear and BIG rock base, notwithstanding) is back to perching, the hummingbird feeders are refilled, and that sporadic bright light to the east is...well...that sporadic bright light to the east...
Might have tried fly-fishing in the creek last night, but I think the only thing I might have caught would have been Parker...

Hello to all my Q friends,

Good to hear you road out the storm without incident .

The same storms rolled thru Pilot Knob here in the Yuma area.

Gave my rig a much needed washing and cleaned off the solar panels .

No damage here, just lots of mud.

Michael

Hey Michael,
Glad to hear you survived the big blow...we also have mud, but it's under a lot of rock and gravel currently I can see some of that blue stuff to the southwest...if I remember correctly, it's called 'clear skies'...

Q Today

Well the BIG tent made it throu last nights storm ok.There are a few vendors tents down and a couple of roofs blown off in town mainly up on the west end but not as bad as last months storm
We are still going to get some more rain today but "THEY" say nothing like last night. It is then going to be back to the old Q weather sunny and warm.
Photo 1 The little wash by us.We had water front property for a while, but it is dry again.
Photo 2 The BIG tent.A few years ago they used a red and white one that the wind took down.
So once again we all made it ok.
The Quartzsite Improvement Association (QIA)44th Annuale Pow Wow Gem & Mineral show is now on till the 24th of January Like I have said before it is one of the largest Gem & Mineral shows in the world.
During the Pow Wow the QIA serves 3 cafeteria style meals a day from 8 AM to 7 PM.They serve over 7000 home cooked meals at reasonable price and the menu changes daily.
Sure hope some of you Airstreamer will stop by and see us soon.

Good to see you made it through the rain and wind, Jim. Meterologists are calling this storm one of the worst to ever hit Arizona.

My property got lots of rain and my front yard looks like a lake. My Sovereign got a good bath, too. See looks pretty clean and shiny.

Jimmini,

Please post your location again. We are currently planning on attending the Hobo Rally in Blythe the first week of February. We might have time to drop by and say hi, only if your location is accessible by car.

Bill

Hi Bill
You go South on 95 out of Quartzsite to just past mile marker 102 turn right in to La Posa Tyson Wash. From the entery we are about 1/2 mile in.Take the white gravel road that will go right then left. When you get to the 15MPH sign on you right there is a trail 541 to your left.We are down it a few hundred yard on your left 3 Airstream trailer and a Airstream MoHo.
Hope to see you soon.
