4CU New Years

Well I have been slow to post because we are having to much FUN.
We got here to Tuesday two days before the rally officially started. That night we had 7 early bird Airstreams and on Wen.night we had 16 trailers. We had a little happy hour Wen night at our trailer.
Right now it looks like the Airstream count will be 31 units. We have 3 Classic MoHo's,1 Squarestream and the rest are silver trailers of all years and size.We have folks here from as far away as Florida,Michigan,Massachusett and Texas.
The team leader of membership told me last night we had got 2 new full members and 2 new associate members. So we are off to a good start for new members in 2010.Hope the WBCCI officers can learn from units like ours how to get NEW members with out spending lots of $$$$.
New Years night was hard on us old folks and we only made it till about 10:30 PM.BUT at the door prize drawing I did managed to WIN 3 of the prizes's,One was a set of 4 hand towels donated by Andy at Inland RV,2 coffee mugs and a T shirt Donated by Oasis RV.Then at the white Elephant give away Min got 2 White ceramic elephants.

Photo 1 Sun set over a Squarestream.
Photo 2 Happy Hour at our Squarestream Wen.night.
Photo 3 Hair of the DOG walking.
Photo 4 Start of New Years Happy Hour.
Photo 5 & 6 Some of the rig's.

May work try again

That post did not take so will try again.
Well I was the winner of 3 door prizes the first night. So to give other folks a chance to win "THEY" took all but one of my ticket out of the jar.
BUT I was still able to win a bottle of Happy Camper Wine that is now in the wine cellar of our Squarestream (See photo)
I am now home and will head out to Quarzsite tomorrow (If I get over this rally).
Sure would like to thank the vendors Oasis RV,Inland RV,Happy Camper wines and Vintage Trailer for the donations that where given away.It sure makes a rally more fun.EVEN IF I DID NOT WIN ONE FROM VINTAGE.
FYI we used our Squarestream 169 night in 2009.

Roosevelt Lake

Hi --

My husband just forwarded me this thread. It's a little old but he knew it would peak my interest.

We live in Florida and have a 2008 Airstream Classic 30 which is his first Airstream but my 2nd. My first Airstream was an old one the former spouse and I bought at the mobile home site at Roosevelt Lake in 1974. It was on a slight hill across from the boat ramp and there were maybe 20 mobile homes. We lived in Tucson and spent most weekends at Roosevelt Lake in our Airstream and fishing from our 15' bowrider. Great times for about 8 years.

Thanks for the happy memories.

Judy

Goodness, and it would appear that you've even got the lawns mowed already. You are quick Jim.....

Who all is camped there at this time? How warm does it get this time of year?

The weather for the most part has been grate this year. Most of the days have been in the upper 60's and low 70's with lot of SUN.BUT the first part of next week "they" say we are going to get 3 or 4 days of rain showers with temps in the low to mid 60's.

Well, your low rain temps there are about 10 degrees higher than our high rain temps here. It is warmer here in the winter when it rains than when the sky is clear and sunny so whether it is raining there or the usual sunny you are way ahead of us in the warmth department. I guess from the pictures I see though with everyone bundled up around the campfires that it gets pretty chilly when the sun goes down?

I am so looking forward to spending some of next winter with you folks there. It will be nice to meet all of you, spend some time relaxing and watching the grounds keeper mow that lawn I see (I guess that would be Mike with his divot maker?), and participate in the New Years and/or DH gatherings.

I sure enjoy the pictures and updates you post Jim. They fill the void we currently have in our camping lives with everything tucked away for the next few weeks.

Barry

Surrounded at q

Another grate day in Q the temp today will get up to about70.Sunny
BUT the 3 or 4 days of rain showers will start Monday.
The big talk around the LTVA yesterday is that the well pump where we get water is BROKE and it is down about 800 feet in the well. Now all we can do is wait for the BLM to fix it.In the mean time we will have to buy water in town.
On Friday the BLM had over 400 rig sign in to the LTVA.That is not counting all that came to the 5 FREE camping areas.
Here a a few photo of how we have been surrounded by RV's in the LTVA.

Photo 2,3 and 4 around us.

A good day in Q.We got some rain last night, but today the sun is out and it will be about 64 today.BUT the wind is blowing from the South. We will be getting rain off and on till Friday.
The other good thing is they got the water well pump changed and we now have water.
Photo 1 & 2 Nice rigs
Photo 3 Working on the water well pump.
Photo 4 & 5 To many folks in Q for the shows.Yesterday traffic was backed up on 95 south of Q for about 2 miles with folks going to the RV show.In photo 5 you can see the BIG tent.
I do not go to town between 9 am and 4:30 PM.as the crouds are just to big for me.

Looks like they're trying to BOX you in. Please don't go out sleep walking through the wash for the next couple nights. I know you can't trust those bloody mary's.

Stay safe and say HI to all our AS friends out there in Q.
