Shocking

I have been searching around for the best deal on a set of new shocks for my 83 310 (82 chassis) and came across this site.......

http://www.eshocks.com/bil_veh.asp?M...tein&SubChar=Q

However they list the years for the steering damper as 84-00 as opposed to the shocks 73-00 (you have to click on add to cart to see the steering damper years). I do have a steering damper in my 310 and am 90% sure that this will work, but need someone who knows better to say, yay or nay. I was this close to hitting submit when I noticed the years difference.

Also, decent prices for these? What do you think?

Cheers
Tony

Tony, I'm not seeing the 84-00 that you're mentioning. All I see is the 73-00 for the shocks and the steering damper.

I can't believe there is any difference between 73 and 84. Monroe lists the same damper for 75 and 83.

Yeah, it list 73-00 in the first page, but if you click on add to cart, the years for the damper change to 84-00. I'm thinking it has to be a typo but wanted to check.

What do you think of the prices Brad? They are Bilsteins.

Cheers

Gotta be a typo.

Prices probably aren't bad. I opted for Monroe shocks and damper because I had no idea when (if ever) I would be driving my Argosy. I figure once I actually do use it for a while I can always switch over to Bilsteins

As an aside, on my old 84 310 I had installed Bilstein shocks and one day while looking at the front suspension I noticed that the right front shock was hanging down. Turns out the rod had snapped where it bolts to the lower control arm. It was at that point I noticed just how much the front springs sagged. I told the new owner to replace the front springs before doing any more driving.

I used the same company about ten years ago and they were the cheapest then. I think they sold me a bulk deal all four shocks and the dampener. Parts should reference a P37 Motorhome, which is the correct specification for our Chevy chassis.

My 1991 coach order as follows

2 B46-1173-H3 73-00 P1500, P2500, P3500, P10, P20, P30, P32, P37 Motorhome Class A Bilstein Heavy Duty Front Shock $78.65 $157.30
2 B46-1587-H1 73-00 P1500, P2500, P3500, P10, P20, P30, P32, P37 Motorhome Class A Bilstein Heavy Duty Rear Shock $78.65 $157.30
1 BE3-2645-H0 84-00 P1500, P2500, P3500, P10, P20, P30, P32, P37 Motorhome Class A Steering Damper $78.65 $78.65
