Rivet in front side windows?
I noticed a small rivet in the front sliding glass windows on both sides.
A hole is drilled through the glass at the rear edge for the rivet. It
seems to serve no purpose. What could it be for?

Pete.
The glass is the same as used in the early model MH which had a different latching system (using a spring plunger) into that hole....when the latches changed in 1977 Airstream had to fill the hole with something so why not a rivet? Well I can think of several reasons why not a rivet (like it interferes with the glass seating into the side channel and must have been a pain to install) but when did Airstream actually ever think through a problem rather than simply grab the first solution that was to hand?
