...and a fair bunch of us hung out Sunday night and continued to enjoy convivial company (and the fish was still AWESOME). Great to see everyone and meet some new friends. (Oh, Rhoda and Nola also had a good time...they were EXHAUSTED and slept the entire 170 miles home). I THOUGHT I would escape the next best SilverLeaf improvement until I saw Rob and Katie's new Atwood range with a piezo lighting system for the oven... Definitely hope to see everyone at Fall Alumalina. Barry

Wonderful

Hello all! I am home safe. Thank you to each and everyone I met that made this a great event. Special thanks to Sandlapper and Susan for the planning of it. I could go on about everything and everyone, but for now, unpack, wash, store, and drink beer some more! Love to all my new friends!! See you in the fall ya'll. MPJ

What a great time! Thanks sooo much to John and Susan and their super assistants Terry and Annie. We had a blast. Loved meeting so many and trying to put "real names" with Forum names. I did get Rita's name clearly understood. She quickly became my new BFF. Can't wait till the next one so I can learn a few more names. If I go to enough I might eventually learn all the names.
Hope to see some of you at Region 3 rally in Ashville (or near there) next month or somewhere else down the road!

Maybe those of us who go to the Region 3 in Asheville can do an "Alumalina Alumni" link-up. Wouldn't that be fun??? Barry

This was my our first camping trip with, Bella, and I don't think we could have found a nicer group of folks.
My 20 year old step son wants a Bambi for himself...
Thanks John, Susan and everybody who made our first trip so positively memorable.

Silverleaf,

Funny you would mention a Alumalina Alumni at the Region 3 Rally. I talked with Sandlapper this afternoon and told him I thought I would wear my Blue Alumalina shirt one of the days during the Region 3 Rally. I am sure the word is out about the Alumalina spring and fall event. This might get more people interested in checking out the Alumalina event?

We laughed and when on to reviewing the weekend and all of the great fellowship that everyone had during the weekend. Which goes back to the point that Roy Beaver was talking about having rallies and meeting new people from other parts of this great country. The point was proven on Sunday morning when all of the meeting tents came down in about thirty minutes, with lots of folks pitching in to help. I am sorry our "Chaplin" did not get to have the Sunday service under the blue tarp but what a great plan "B" under the beautiful trees and Carolina Blue skies of Lake Wateree State Park.

I do hope some folks are re-thinking about attending the Region 3 Rally at Fletcher after the great weekend we had at Lake Wateree.

Enough for tonight, back to my big tree limb to give my last Hoot.

Wow!!!

Thank you one and all for your kind words, and for not forgetting about my great team....could not have pulled it off without them. Everyone there was ready and willing.

Hotdogs, possum bogs, fish frys, even naughty girls like Rita don't make great rallys, it's the people who come that make them great....and what a great bunch we have. "Cheerful in all weather; never shirked a task".

I am still unpacking and putting together some numbers, so far it looks like this:

55 rigs, including 3 motorhomes
1-VA
2-PA
3-TN
1-NJ
1-RI
1-AL
12-GA.......nice work Georgia
13-NC.......Ga almost beat 'ya
20-SC........the winner!!!

Rigs from a vintage 1959 to 2013, 16' to 34'.

Almost 1500' of Airstreams

About 150 people, including 1 naughty girl named Rita.

Thank you all for being such great poeple.

John and Susan

Alumalina Open House

Thank you to everyone for letting us look inside your cool trailers - enjoyed the story of the '95, Beth, and enjoyed seeing the new International that does not show dirt, Pam. Skaterios' work is even better in person than in the photos and your corner storage really came out well, Barry. Your 34 was quite a highlight, Sandlapper, and thanks for the warm welcome. Too bad our time was too short to see more - hope you all made it home safely.

Many thanks to John and everyone who put on this great event! We had a blast...even on crutches! (; John, I hope I didn't hold you guys up too badly on the interstate. My first time towing the 25', and it was so windy! Already looking forward to the fall gathering. (: Dates?

Home, unpacked and back to the usual day to day . Had a blast under the "blue top" with all of ya. Many thank to all that put the best yet alumalina together in spite of the weather. The food was fab. Rita was a hit as always. Can't wait to see what we can pull off for the fall rally! Taking Bill to the Galax Va. Bluegrass rally for his retirement trip. Should be fun. See y'all in fletcher.

You are a wonderful host!
You, Susan, Terry and Annie are to be commended for all the work you do tirelessly, so everyone can have a great time. Your efforts are appreciated by all, I am sure. I will try to stay away from Rita, she's a bad influence.
See you down the road...

I think the idea of wearing our Alumalina shirts to Region rally is a great idea. Lets pick a day. I'm not sure of the rally schedule yet but when it comes out, lets pick a day and we will be glad to host a happy hour, either at our site (wherever that may be) or in a building or something. I am not familiar with the layout there. Can't wait to see everyone again.

Luckier, since you are a fellow Carolinian I will be glad to share with you how it happens. Come join the Dirtless Trailer on it's next outing, the Region 3 rally in Asheville, for all the inside info.

Over the rainbow

We arrived Tues. for the festivities and it rained a bit on Wed. As we sat watching the lake thinking of the upcoming event a fabulous rainbow appeared. A definite sign that it was to be a great weekend and all know that it certainly was. Enjoy!
