The early flowering trees are just blooming, no place prettier in the spring than down here. Having said that, there is a freeze warning for tonight but then it warms up. Nothing but sunshine and smiles in our future.

Our trees in Charleston are blooming but freeze tonight. Drained AS pipes...just in case.

I WISH we could leave earlier, but due to some kid stuff we can't leave Marietta until 4:30 or 5:00. Not sure what time we will get there, but leave a light on for us! Hope the gate doesn't lock!

You know, for a second there, I thought I was on Facebook, with a full-post-size "suggested post" (paid advertisement) from Silver Trailer Supply shoved into our thread. Am I just lucky, or is anybody else seeing it?

Terry,

Seen it too or was I watching reruns of the Twilight Zone, I don't know.

Yeah spring is springing but my Dogwoods haven't bloomed yet but I've seen early pine pollen down in CHS.

I was watching for the 1K post, missed it this afternoon, oh well.

My head is ready for a break, just gotta make it happen. And 1st cruise with the new 16's too.

Gary

25 degrees, winds at 30+ and snowing. come on Friday and 70. This makes it hard to pack the trailer let alone DE-WINTERIZE IT. We are expecting record lows tonight. Think it would be a good night to look for possums? They may be a little slow tonight.

I dewinterized Bertha a week ago last Saturday. At the time, weather was sunny, and in the mid 70's. I would have waited longer, but we had some business out of town last weekend that precluded doing it then (not that it seems it would have mattered). We've been running the heat in the trailer for several nights.

Safety reminder

Just a safety reminder to check your various alarms to make sure they function and batteries replaced if necessary. This past week here in Nashville at the KOA on Music City Drive a couple died in their camper due to carbon monoxide poisoning. The news reports didn't say anything about alarms but because this is probably the first outing of the year for most of us I thought I would mention it as another thing to check for a safe outing and season. The reports did say one of the stove top burners was on, the police though accidental, but if not there is danger in using a burner as a heat source.
We're all packed and hooked up for an early, but cold, start. It is suppose to be 20F at 6AM tomorrow morning. One night at Gatlinburg and on to Lake Wateree on Thu for a great time. Looking forward to it.

Well, I just heard a meteorlogical term I had never heard before: graupel.
And yes, we're having some of it as I type this...

Oh yes John, there is indeed a prize awaiting you at the rally. As a heads up, sharpen your skinnin' knife.

... I think a possum would fit right in at our trailer. We might not even notice:

... they no longer lock the gates. BUT, Once you leave the interstate, the 10 miles through the country to the park are dark and full of deer. And yes, we will be up and waiting for you.

Are you coming Thursday or Friday??

As fun as this thread is, can't you just imagine how fun the actual rally will be!!??

Everyone:: please travel safe, and get there safe and sound. We have a lot of good stuff planned and want everyone there to enjoy it.

Don't forget your chair, flashlight, a tent if you have one, and above all, BRING YOUR SMILE, you're gonna need it.

John

Time to go

I am headed to the Park this morning to get a jump on things. I am so looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Please travel safe.

There is no wifi there so I will have very limited means to check in.

See you there.

We would have been pulling in there today.

Y'all have a wonderful, wonderful time.

I'll be thinking of you, and Doug will be there in spirit, with his Jameson & Ginger.

Hope to see you next year.

XO Maggie

regrettably, it looks like we're joining the ranks of the missing from Alumalina this weekend.

we have site 15 reserved for 4 nites, Thursday through Sunday, so if anyone needs / wants it, reach out to us via email?

otherwise, I expect to be cancelling that reservation later today.

best,
