Our English Lab Gunner.

He gets so excited when he sees us getting our AS Sali ready for a trip!

Leaving soon for Northern MN to get a break from mid west heat and humidity. We’re at Lake Itasca so little doubt he’ll be loving the swimming!

Gunner looks awesome! Nice photo from the Yosemite tunnel vista point. Did you guys take hwy 120 over Tioga Pass with the trailer?

RIP Bailey

It is with great sadness that I add this post. Our beloved Bailey, almost 14 years has departed on her last road trip. She traveled from Dog Beach/San Diego to Orcas Island, WA to Key West, FL. We know she will continue to be traveling with us for our pending Acadia trip. She will forever be in our prayers and memories.

She was a rescue who developed into one of the most loving companions ever.

Out of respect for her, our avatar picture will remain unchanged.

She asked that we introduce to you all to her rescued sister & BFF (Andy) Rooney.

So sorry for you loss. A lot of tears I'm sure.

What a wonderful gift to have had her until 14.

Totally agree with rowiebowie and would add that Andy Rooney is the perfect name for Bailey’s sister!

I hope happy memories are a comfort.

We’re heartbroken that we had to say goodbye to our Daisy girl this morning. She’s been sick with a horrendous cough for several weeks and 3 RXes did her no good. Even though she’s been very slow and logy during this time, she went camping with us last weekend and made it through a wonderful hour-long stroll around the lake at Shaftsbury State Park in VT. She loved trails and their new bunch of smells. Our girl who would NEVER miss the chance for a walk with her peeps got out to the driveway this morning and just refused to go any further. She was exhausted and she let us know. She loved us so well. We’re crushed for ourselves but so relieved for her that she’s not fighting this any more.

RIP sweet houndie.

Squirrel!

And to all who have lost their buddies, it never gets easy we know, but the happy times more than make up for the inevitable sad goodbye time. We have had dogs that lived from 11 to 19 years and as with you they have all been literally part of the family. All were sweet and loving in their own way, and we miss all of them even the ones that were "high maintenance" LOL.

SSM please accept my heartfelt condolences. The sad news was the last thing I was expecting to read in this thread

You once mentioned that the avatar picture was day one of Daisy's rescue. Looking at it, you can see & feel the love in both directions. I'm thinking you also said something about not sure who did the rescuing. Everyone is a winner...loads of love to go around

Like Bailey's avatar picture, Daisy's too will always bring a wonderful loving feeling to our hearts. SYC2Vette said is so well.

Find comfort knowing that Daisy & Bailey have crossed over that rainbow bridge and will be waiting for us. Until then, as you posted "I hope happy memories are a comfort." They are indeed.

Be well my friend.

RIP Daisy

Thank all for your notes here and in PMs. These beloved camping buddies just overstuff the heart...leaves such a hole when they leave us behind. Thanks for your kind thoughts. Give your buddies extra hugs and snugs.

Good dog. I wonder how many got the inside joke that we all get on this forum.
