Trying to post an image (test). This is Kate, doing her thing. A very good hunting dog, and a fantastic pet. Although I think an English Setter can shed enough white hair every day to completely cover another dog. If only there was a market for dogs hair, I be rolling in dough.
Edit, lower pic is grandson’s first pheasant hunt. He’s carrying an empty BB gun.

And boy, does Kate look like she is in her element in that field.

My Lily is a lab mix, and I understand the shedding, as she has been my biggest cleaning problem since we found her 9+years ago.

I vacuum up a full canister of dog hair from her every single week.

We have a forest preserve we visit when weather is hospitable, and went up there the other day to find it closed for hunting season.

We found another spot she could take a wild romp in, and she looked just like Kate out in there....in my happy plaaaaaace!!!

Had a magnificent full size female collie when I was growing up. ‘Crissie’ was superbly sensitive to your tone of voice, and a very obedient doggie.

However, you could vacuum the entire house perfectly clean, and after she walked through once, it was “wall to wall dog hair” again.

Thx. She’s our sixth Setter. After Cass, Ben, Captain, Luke, and Cash. Only Ben was as comfortable inside as Kate is. The others were all about hunting. Paced endlessly with the engine running, wanting to be out running. She is our most prolific shedder by far. The rear of our house faces south. With the low sun angle in winter the sun really shines in on the tile floor. Vacuum comes out every few days. We don’t see it as clearly in summer. Ha!

Nellie

We’ve been sailing for a number of years and no dog. I’ve always had a dog. When we crossed from Mexico to Tahiti you have a lot of time to think.

I needed a dog and two new knees. Checked both of those off the list.

Post your pet pictures

Last week we lost Mac, our 14 year traveling buddy. It only took 48 hours before we knew a new puppy was going to join our family. AKC BBC Costalotta Cash is 7 weeks old and bonding to us (and us to him).
Meet Cash.

So sorry for your loss of Mac. Having lost our sweet traveling Bloodhound Daisy this year, we know at some point we need to fill that hole up with another travel buddy too. But 48 hours is some record! Glad for you and glad for one of the best named and cutest pups ever! Many happy journeys for you and Costalotta Cash! [emoji3]

Sorry to hear about your loss, but I think Mac would have approved! Cash is a cutie!

To lose two beloved pets in such a short time, I can't imagine how tough that is. Sorry for your loss of Mac. Please post a recent picture of him.

With old pets, it seems just yesterday they were puppies/kittens. Time passes too soon.

Mac rode hard all the way from puppy to old man. This past summer he enjoyed his 6th 4,000 mile trip from MS to WY. Here he is at 8,000 ft camping.
Its been 14 years since we had a puppy. Have they become more high energy in that time? Cash just ran out of the garage with one of my screwdrivers.

Here is Cash with this moments favorite toy, a piece of pvc pipe.

You probably just don't remember the puppy craziness that well. I hope you look back and feel as fondly of Cash as you did Mac.

Cats on the Couch

Sheldon (on the seat) and BabyCakes (on the back) enjoying their first nap in the newer trailer. They didn't like the trailer at first, they kept going into the older one. They seem happy now!
