Thanks it sounds l like the X5 will do the job nicely, we also travel light and I am sure we can stay under the vehicles payload capacity.
It helps that the hitch weight of my Bambi is low (<200#)....

Handles a 19' Bambi with power to spare.

Don't know for bigger AS but that set up handles a 19' Bambi really well.
Many thousand miles and 2 cross country trips no problem gas mileage drops to 11mpg while towing, normal mileage not towing...
