Who's waiting on a new 2022 Globetrotter?

We have a scheduled completion date of August 19 for our 2022 27' FBQ Globetrotter. It was originally scheduled for completion on August 16 but a few weeks ago that date was pushed back three days. Who else is out there waiting for a 2022 GT?

I’m waiting! We just ordered ours on July 26th at Colonial. Expected delivery is March 2022. Went with 2 ACs but otherwise standard. FWIW, the unit does not include soft start on the Dometic AC, we are going to install micro air soft start. Can’t wait till spring!

We ordered a GT 30RBT in mid-May with an original delivery date in October. That has since been pushed back to sometime in December. We, too, are interested in the soft start but we were told it invalidates the Dometic warranty. From what I can find, Dometic offers a soft start option in Europe, but not the United States. Our dealer will not install unless we sign a warranty waiver, which we will do. Want to upgrade to the Airstream Power Plus but have been told that is only available on the Classic. We are also planning on having the dealer install a 3" lift kit and 16" wheels and tires. We are very excited to take delivery and begin the journey.

I was all about the Power Plus, but for us it wasn’t a cost effective way to upgrade. The unit comes standard with AGM batteries. With the dealer installed Power Plus upgrade we’d get Lithium but zero credit for the AGMs. Basically donating a set of AGM batteries to the dealer. We are going to run the AGMs to see what we need, then go from there. No mention of micro air invalidating warranty. There’s a huge thread about this elsewhere on the forum. Basically they can’t make you sign it and they can’t invalidate your warranty. I like the idea of the 3” lift, might have to look into that.

I just picked up a cancelled order for a 2022 GlobeTrotter FB25 TB with estimated arrival end of September. I have a VIN number so it is likely not vaporware. Not expecting any significant changes from 2021 model.

Anybody have experience with these lift kits and 16" tires? Obviously going to be some kind of hit on aerodynamics and possibly stability in high winds. Seems like a good idea given the low clearance of these weight distribution hitches.

We got the lift on our 21GT27FBQ. We have had zero handling issues with over 12000 miles on...its.only 3" higher. Way better rear clearance coming into our storage area and have not scraped on any business entries.

What are you towing with?

I am debating 27 or 30, my TV will be a new 21 F150 Powerboost which is more than capable on either. Like the couch in the 30 but would rather have an easier to maneuver 27

I was considering the same issues. Just got a 21 F150 PowerBoost but it only has a payload of 1,310 lbs so I decided to get the 25 GlobeTrotter to keep the weight down.

Waiting on 27'

i ordered May 1 with a September delivery, which was pushed back to October shortly there after. I'm having the dealer install an Equalizer hitch. Possibly the soft start for the AC as well.

Did a page by page comparison between 2021 and 2022 brochure. The only difference I can find is the model year number.

I would not tow either a 27' or a 30' with an F-150. My 2021 powerboost only has a payload capacity of 1316 lbs and I have the max towing package. I had a 27' International before and towed it with an F-250 which was the perfect truck for the job. Any lighter truck and I think towing would be a white knuckle affair with limited payload storage.

My new 2022 Globetrotter 23' FB twin is scheduled for completion on September 7th. I went with the 23 over the 25 or 27 mainly because of much lower tongue weight, towing comfort, more convenient size, and my wife and I prefer the 23' twin floor plan. It has more storage space, a better bathroom, and a great layout for 2 people. Our old 27' international had a lot of wasted space, very uncomfortable lounge seating, and a poorly designed cramped bathroom. We are very excited to take delivery in September.

Waiting on '22 27FB Globetrotter

I ordered a '22 27FB Globetrotter on April 18, 2021, and was told to expect delivery in the first half of August. My dealer told me the only status update I'd get was 10 days before it arrived at the dealership, which would be the day production was completed. Since today is August 6 and I haven't received the 10-day notice, it's officially late. I find it hard to believe that the dealer has no way of knowing the trailer's status other than "complete" or "incomplete."

Your dealer should have a production order that has the exact date of expected completion. He should also know the average shipping time and how much time his dealership takes to prep the trailer. All in all, he should know the exact date, VIN and if the trailer is late.

Right now, my trailer is scheduled to be completed Sept. 7th. It was originally set for completion on Aug. 31st. So it has been pushed back one week. I would expect yours is also one week behind. Your dealer can find out if you bug him.

We were hoping to see what new options are available for 2022 but my dealer said it is much the same as 2021. We made a few changes on our mid-December delivery (which was moved back two months) such as the convection microwave, but our dealer also told us there is no "last chance" to modify when it goes into production. So, guess we will see what we get. Emailed Dometic to see if they have any issues with the dealer installing the A/C soft starts but they have not gotten back. Airstream confirmed soft starts had nothing to do with their warranty.

We placed an order for a 25 FBT Globetrotter from Foley Rv in Gulfport, Ms in early March. It was due to come off production line 4 August and our salesman (who has been wonderful) estimated we’d have it in our possession by mid August. He called today to let me know - and he quoted some from an email…. That 25-30 foot units in production last week are now delayed 10-14 days due to ….. no wheel bearings! We were happy to take possession without the stabilizer motors but I guess wheels are a must have. Rats.

Our experience has been much different at Woodland Airstream. We were given our VIN within 24 hours of ordering our Airstream in May. We've had updates at least every four weeks, and weekly as of late. Do you know your VIN? You can always call Airstream and ask for a status update. I see a 27' GT with VIN number ending in 58872 arrived on Patricks (Colonial) lot last week.
