2022 Updates over 2021 models.

Can anyone speak to the modifications or enhancements to 2022 Flying Clouds? Thanks.

Not sure if the 2022 model FC can fly.

2022

I heard faint rumors of no major upgrades. I would like to see a 2000 Watt inverter standard and 2 BB without dealer updates.

would like to see an inverter/controller have the option to use lead or lithium batteries. Like a "switch" inside the inverter. is that possible?

Same here.

Airstream definitely needs at least a 2000 watt inverter option to power micro-convection oven when off grid.

BattleBorn batteries as an option.

16" wheel upgrades with light truck tires.

Better converter-inverter which will work with lithium batteries.

At least 400 watts of solar option.

other nice features would be;

macerator toilet with pump and small hose for sewer.

Quality ceramic coating option from factory.

Would love to see available options for:
  • Maximum Solar Panels
  • Battle Born Batteries
  • 3,000 Watt Inverter (All circuits on inverter)
  • Skylight in shower
  • Fridge w/separate freezer compartment (Bambi and Caravel)
  • Propane Oven (Bambi and Caravel)

Wishlists are interesting and fun, but has anyone seen anything about what changes are actually slated for the 2022 models? At this point in the year it seems like they should be all finalized.

Heck, I would be.glad to have a Fantastic fan in the bathroom. Think for it, the lid could open and exhaust any bad air as it was being produced.

I'd be concerned that the fan would suck up the odor from the tank every time you flushed.

At a dealership a few weeks ago I was told the SmartPlug electrical cord will be standard on 2022. That would be a nice improvement over the threaded connections.

Update

The Smart Plug is a huge upgrade snd now Zamp Obsidian solar panels. late 21 and 22 get them. I made sure our unit was getting both on the 21 order I heard no Major 22 changes that would stop our 21 purchase except a hefty price increase.

So looks like for us it’s the aftermarket for 4-500 amps of Lithium and the new Victron 50 amp whole trailer inverter charger. Installer is testing it now.

If that’s a concern turn fan off momentarily before you flush, put a placard on the wall.

Both nice upgrades! Exactly the sort of incremental but substantive improvements you would hope for in an in-between year.

I will confess right here to my stupidity. After two seasons of camping I JUST figured out that you have to twist and push the fan housing in the shower and bathroom to that they are open to the outside. They always seemed pretty ineffective and seemed to bog down a bit right after I turned them on. Now I get it. Sigh. I look forward to better venting this season! First trip is this weekend!

Anyone heard anything about the changes coming for 2022?

Supposedly Airstream will start production for the 2022 units in July. You would have thought that they would have leaked a few details by now.

Maybe no changes this year since all the supply issues and the fact that RVs are selling like hotcakes.

All electric fridge is what my dealer has told me. But I haven’t seen anything official.

Hate the Smartplug update. Now you have to buy all new dog ones and special 30amp cord with Smartplug end. Damn.
