Apparently my Classic isn't that old.

We use the rear slide drawer for our fresh water hoses and water filter system. We cut out a hole in the tray so we could attach a city water hose from the water spigot to our two water filters that attaches to our water softener. We then have a hose that goes from our water softener to our city water connection on the Airstream. We also keep extra fresh water hoses in this draw. This drawer is only used for our fresh water system.

As I previously noted. These bumper drawers were last used on 2014 Classics.

Included along with what others have suggested, we have bought several plastic shoe boxes (~12x8x5”, I think from Home Depot) that work great for keeping some rags, extra parts that are not needed frequently (like extra hose connections, washers, close pins, etc.). The boxes keep out dust, and if water does get into the compartment, the plastic keeps everything dry.

I have a 1978 Argosy 30. In my Bumper compartment is my electric cord which then goes through the back wall of the trailer and into the Service Panel. Is this normal or has some PO done something a little screwy?

Did they make this bumper slide out drawers in the 1988 Classic Moho? Because that would be news to us.

My 2019 Classic bumper storage has all the sewer fittings and caps in a large baggie. I also keep 6 - 3/4" plywood leveling (18" X 6") boards for leveling. I'm not a big fan of the plastic lego blocks. These are so much easier to use.

I have the awning hook and a broom. I just cleaned out the compartment the other day anticipating our next big trip. It does get really dirty in there. Not sure why they left all the openings for water and dirt to get in.

On the new Classics, the sewer hose actually fits in the hose holder under the trailer so no need to put it in the rear bumper. Unfortunately, you have to take off any clear elbows and just cap it.

Our bumper compartment is made of a galvanized steel and under the piece of vinyl flooring, the steel has started rusting. I sprayed with a clear lacquer after a bit of sanding. You might check yours.

You have a 2019 and your galvanized steel is rusting? What’s up with that? Shouldn’t you be filing a warranty claim?

I don't believe I have ever seen a slide bumper compartment on a classic MH. These bumpers began on trailers for 1996, and the Classic MH went out of production around the same time (last year 1996?). Plus, some of the last Classic MHs were diesel pushers (i.e. rear engine) which would preclude a sliding rear bumper, though the gas engine models may have retained a front engine.

Old probem, never remedied. The FIRST thing one should do is remove any "mat" in exterior compartments.

I removed the AS matting, primed, painted. I store two three trie tire blocks, a 8x2x 24” for leveling, a water proof box with screws, washers, electrical connectors, electrical fuses, etc. 50ft extinction cord, other things that I use a little and will not hurt if wet. We have a 2009 25 Classic this storage is a great idea. I installed tubes under and behind the tires for the waste pipes.
