Just for hoots 'n giggles
I've been in the initial stages of A/S hunting, and have found several I liked, but wasn't too crazy about the exterior. I wanted to get an idea of how an exterior might look if I removed certain things, changed colors, etc. So I pulled a photo into Photoshop and commenced to tweakin'. Attached are the "before" and "after" pics. Thought this was a good way to see how a certain A/S would look before making the changes... or spending the bucks.
Here is the "before"...

So it looks like your just removing the lower stripe...
Thats cool
I'm not sure I've ever seen one with the lower stripe anyway.

Well yeah - that and the upper brown stripe is now darker blue, and the belly pan is also the same shade of blue...
The idea would be that if a guy had a blue truck, he could paint these areas to match it perfectly...

Oh ok - I could not see that in the photos, but as I look closer those colors are different.....
Anyway, I think it looks good. I've seen trailers with similar paint scheme to a tow vehicle as you mention

Personally, I like the silver all across with limited pin or other striping. But I do agree that the photoshop version does look much better.

I prefer the top one. I dig the 'Limited' over the 'Excella' colors. Just my 2cents.

Flames???
Iwas thinking about painting flames on mine, too weird??? Something subtle. maybe just the tips of the flames, in blue and green, my truck is green, and I was thinking about adding a few flames to it...the thought just moved back beyond the hitch!

flames
if you are not sure if you like it
just use some water based paint that will
come of easy with a licht solvent
I did this on my tow car the 1957 imperial
I thought flames looks good on a black car
wife told me she don't want to drive around in a car that looks
like a pimp mobiel
I washed of the flames with terpentine no damage to the paint
I gues that terpentine is no harm to the clear coat

I was kind of curious about the black thing on the front - hadn't seen it on an Airstream previously... Seems to be black fabric over some kind of padding. I suppose the intent was to make it impervious to small rocks and such flying up from the tow vehicle wheels or something - y'all's guess is as good as mine... Unless it was something available on the '91 Limited as an option....? (shrug)
Now I'm doing some tweaking on an interior shot of the bathroom - I'll post it up when I finish. It's definitely looking interesting!

That faucet!
We have that faucet in our bathroom at home!...I have a little bitty corner sink that I had reglazed, and that faucet is the talk of every party I have had. Literally people hang out in the bathroom playing with the sink...it's crazy.
Sorry, off the topic. Just excited to see our faucet!

LOL Yes, that faucet is great - Never miss an opportunity to see it every time I'm over at Home Despot.
One of these days maybe I'll talk myself into shelling out the dough for it!

Doh! for it!!
Somewhere lurking is a thread about the swoosh accents on the sides of Airstreams -- 10 years ago? A little less? The thread I'm thinking of had many photos attached, talking about the pseudo-campness of that exterior decor.
Coriolis, I wish we'd have had you photoshopping for those owners....

Too kind
You're too kind, Bob.
Luckily, the double swoosh seems to be about as "camp" as they got on outside decor.
Can you imagine the threads on how to polish out images of lions and dolphins after removing the large decals associated with them a la a lot of SOB's?
I can just see it now.. "Never mind Wally's mug - how do I get Flipper off my Airstream?"
