Canopener 2017

All the best to those at Topsail this morning. We enjoyed the Chili and fellowship yesterday. Met a couple we have known since our Egg days, made some new friends, and then decided to pull out early ahead of the freeze. We will be joining the Southeast unit of WBCCI just as soon as I can figure out how.

Yesterday, the 2017 Cornhole Tournament was completed. Lisa (Chief Simba) beat Dale (Sky) in a hard fought battle final. First photo is Lisa receiving the trophy and winnings from Jose (Rum Runner), the Tournament Director. Second photo is Lisa graciously donating the $48 in winnings to Dr. David Brooks, President of the Friends of Topsail Hill State Park, for use within the park. Congratulations and thank you Lisa!

Glad we could help with the campfire. Had a great time. Maybe next year we won't have a wedding to attend and will get to stay for the weekend. Where is the next rally?

What a great time at Canopener 2017! Thanks to Annette, Joe, Vicki, Tom, Ed, Bonnie, and ALL the Airstream family; and the Topsail Hill Preserve State Park Friends, staff, and volunteers that made this such a special experience. We met too many wonderful folks to name them all, but they all made our first Canopener (with an Airstream) a cherished week. I do especially want to thank our rag-tag group of ten musicians (the not ready for prime time “Airnotes” or “Aluminotes”?) for helping provide a musical background to last night’s happy hour:

To Annette, Joe and all of there helper bees. Thanks for a great week as usual! Even with bad weather someone is having a good time somewhere. The week always passes by so quick!! We made it home safe and sound, very nice day except for the wind coming straight out of the North. Headwind all the way home. Can't wait for next year! THANKS AGAIN!
