Well, I keep hoping to see $1.99 again! I thought I was seeing things when I saw it here in 2020...I kept filling up when ever I was down a quarter tank, thinking it was going to go back up. We are heading to CA end of March to Borrego Springs...I need to remember to fill up outside Yuma before I get into CA prices! Forgot that one last year, and wow what a shock when I did fill!

On Dec 23 2021 I drove from Kansas to Tucson and never paid over 3.00 a gallon for diesel and at every station I paid less for diesel than what was displayed on the signs for gas. It easy, just used the TDS card discount card. You get a flat 28 cents at loves and I got up to 71 cents at a TA which has one of the higher discounts and my go to station. What I like I can use in the truck lanes and activate the pump without going into the station. I pay the same amount that lot of truckers are paying not what is displayed on the pump. To me, the easy in and easy out of trucks stops and not risking damage to my RV is worth it. I have no connection to TSD and just a happy customer. Here a link to the card.

I have heard of this discount, but they want your social security number also; why? I would love to get a consistent price while towing, but the TA and TDS stations are always at least $.20-.30 cents higher on their signs, so we don't bother to stop there typically. Same with FlyingJ. Just don't like giving out my SS. CC is different..you can always cancel if taken advantage of and is safer to provide, IMHO.

To get a CC I need to supply my SSN. My SSN was my driver licenses number for years and was required for years to cash a check. The other issue is you have to provide a account number to a checking account. Well, I started a secondary checking account to use with TDS and that account number you will find on the bottom of every check you write. So if TA are 20 to 30 cents higher on theirs signs and I regularly get 50 to 70 off isn't that good deal? TDS within minutes will inform be there is a charge on the card and if not my charge I can jump on the internet and transfer all the money in the checking account making a zero balance before the charge hits the bank with is usually 2 to 3 days later.
I always estimate the amount of money I going to need for fuel and jump on the internet and transfer the money and that all that's in the account. Works for me. TDS uses the SSN to track people down if they don't pay and to verify that you are the real person and not a scammer. I think they are taking a real risk with RVers since this is basically a debt card that can be used on account with zero balance that won't show up for 2 to 3 days giving a crook lots time to make charges. I have used for two years and have some great discounts and as fuel prices go up the discounts get bigger.
This is just my opinion but there been enough cyber break-ins of companies that use you SSN that you number is very likely on a list some were already. Credit card companies are prime targets and government agencies are also prime targets.

The last week of October 1979 I drove from Memphis TN to Zephyrhills FL and back, and managed to buy gasoline under $1.00 a gallon the whole way. (Halloween skydiving boogie)
Never managed that again.

Hi
At least in the places we go, the stations with the "flat discount" have a posted price that is higher than the station across the street by ... just over that discount . Indeed the delta is often a nickel or a dime higher.

Well with only a few trips under my belt, the last one being a long one to FL with a month stay, although my F150 did just fine I just pulled the trigger on ordering an F250.
Expected delivery will be late Summer early Fall. Just in time for our last trip of the season. Instead of FL, we plan to head to AZ so the more cargo space will certainly add to our enjoyment.

Curious what you’re towing. Your profile says “currently looking”.
