Any red flags with this tow vehicle I want to buy?

Hi - thanks in advance again, I'm ready to pull the trigger on a used Chevy 250 I think is plenty sufficient but I just can't wrap my head around the formula for a proper tow vehicle. I can't afford to make a bad choice, this is already a stretch

Are there any red flags with this truck to pull a 25/27 FC or International?
https://www.koonswhitemarshchevy.com...8e2fd1ac4d.htm

Is the fact it has an Integrated Trailer Brake Controller a big deal? I was specifically looking for a truck that had one which has been impossible to find

I'm waiting for a response from the dealer on the curb weight, hitch type, axle ratio, and payload - all of which I'm assuming I need to know but aren't sure. Is there anything else I need to be asking?

I already asked once about a different truck and still feel lost, but I'm closer to understanding now. A little.

That's probably about what I'd look for if I was looking for a Chevrolet. The lack of comments in this case is probably as close to a thumbs up as it gets.

Based on the information provided, it looks like this truck should easily handle a 25 or 27 footer. You’ve got plenty of payload capacity at 2,626 lbs., and the axle capacities are good. It would be nice to see the axle ratio and hitch information, but I don’t think they will be a problem. I believe your curb weight will be 6,874 lbs. (GVWR less payload). I’d be shocked if a 2500 series HD truck didn’t have an integrated brake controller as a stock accessory, but I could be wrong. Is this a diesel or gas truck? I’m guessing diesel.

I agree with RedSHED. The lack of comments is a HUGE green light. With nearly 130 views, if anyone thought it was insufficient, you WOULD have heard.

That’s more than enough truck to handle the anticipated 1100 lbs tongue weight of a 25 or 27’ Airstream. By comparison, a 1500 would have around 4000-4100 lbs rear axle max vs. this truck’s 6200 lbs. The 1500 would be right at the axle’s max which means you’re out of payload.

Take a trip to the CAT scales after you get it and do a three-pass weigh. It will confirm you’re in good shape.

You’ll be fine!

It'll do just fine with a good WDH system like the Fastway E2. You still need weight distribution and sway control.

You can ad a brake controller no problem. That truck has plenty of payload for your needs. I'd tow my 22 sport on the ball all day long with that thing

2626 lbs is good for payload. That is tongue weight (about 1000 lbs), and people and stuff in the truck. If the sticker from the manufacturer says it will handle that load then the math is already done for you on axles, etc.

I did not see the answer regarding advantages of the factory brake controller. The factory installed unit also includes sway control that will lightly apply trailer brakes as well as specific TV brakes under certain detected sway conditions. Of course with everything setup properly it may never be needed anyway, I have never seen mine activate.
