ID:	239479AS polished up and need to have a metal carport type storage cover to protect it.

What size do I need to make sure it is protected from sun, hail, etc. ?

What length? 36 ft?

What height ? 12ft?

Width ? Would 14 ft allow me to open door and access inside AS?

Thanks for any advise

Longer, higher and wider than your trailer. Room to work around all sides and on top. Bigger the better.

That Airstream deserves its own castle, in my view. Wow! That is beautiful! Congratulations. Joe

Make it as large as you have space and money for.

Ditto... at least 3 feet around all sides.. and the top if you plan to do any work on it yourself. Then, also have 'sides' on it.. at least halfway down from top to minimize Hail damage potential.

When I get a round tuit I will have a 24' wide x 40' long x 12' high priced in the $3,700 range. Can add sides later. North side against a fence, east side against the house, south side against an existing shed. Maybe eventually a roll-up door on the west end.

That rig belongs in a art museum when you aren't using it. No kidding. I would build a concrete reinforced bunker......

If you have the room, a pull through is the best answer. I have 30 amp service and overhead lights in my Airstream "hanger".

so to get back to the OP question about size.. I did not see anyone with a good answer on his size. the larger building tend to cost more.

I am planning to get a 28 ft unit and was looking at a 18 wide x 30 long by 10 foot sides and was wondering the same thing.. the cost is currently 1705.00 in the above numbers. To go up on side legs to 12 ft tall, the roof goes up
appx 2 or so feet higher than side legs, and the price goes up to $1,855.00.

what is the usual height of a AS unit with AC on top , with up sized tire to 15" size be.

I would go with 12' high to give you room to access the top of the coach. And another 2' to 4' in length to protect the coach from the 45 degree hail storms. If you have them where you live.

What would be the actual height of trailer to top of AC unit?.

The covers side height at 11ft the actual top of cover would be some 3 feet taller in the center of the cover.

We rarely get "hell" around here but the idea is good to be a bit longer to protect the metal for sure.

YMMV but my 73 Argosy is 10'9" to the top of the AC. My pucker factor at 11' is pretty high.

As a side question to the carport size, has anyone dealt with carport.com or any other large shelter supplier? I am also looking to have a good shelter for our AS and it would be interesting to get opinions on who is good.

I went with a 18' wide X 30' deep 10'high , park the AS tight on right hand side and park the F250 tight on the left side, this allows enough room to open the AS door. It is tight but it works, I beleive with the pitch of the roof a 8' tall side wall would also work without issue.

now if you could hitch the boat behind the AS that would be the real deal

Thanks, and you are correct. However, I do have the canoe loaded on the TV.
