Inverter Running.

Normally (well always) when we park the AS at home, I disconnect the negative battery terminal......seems just as easy as a battery disconnect switch. I went to replace some supplies today, and heard a fan running. Found the inverter running. Shouldn’t be in my opinion, I don’t think this has happened before, but electric is not my strength. So, I disconnected the positive terminal as well thinking (incorrectly it seems) that this would cut all power. Nothing else in the trailer is powered, but the inverter fan is still running. What am I missing?

It should not be possible for the inverter to be running if your battery is disconnected. Are you sure its the inverter, and not the converter/charger? Are you connected to shore power?-- Frank

Yeah, pretty sure as I replaced it two years ago. I have a 23D and it is located street side near the front of the banquet. Is it possible to have residual power running it for a period after disconnecting?

If you have disconnected the batteries and you are not on shore power then nothing should be running, not even the propane detector.

My 2019 Classic has TWO battery cables. One to battery switch and one to the inverter. See if yours does.

Newby here with all these problems. FC25.
I have no idea what Elect Switch you guys are talking about. A main switch was not shown to me. The run through by the dealer was a bit much to handle.

I came back from initial trip from a dealership a distance away and 3-4 days later the Monitor for Batts etc does not show anything, elect or otherwise.

No DC equipment has power. Lights, radio etc.
I turned on the inverter (can't remember if it was already on) and heard the usual (to me) noise. Sounds like more than a fan to me. Why does this run if Batts are dead>.
Yes, I WILL get switch to isolate the batts, in storage mode, but want to understand this problem more.BTW my Monitor is wired wrong or the tanks are miswired to it. We tried to fill fresh water tank and the toilet overflowed.Apparently the fresh water tank is full although the Monitor says empty. The Black water tank was "Full". Many problems including the

&^0*)__ Aluminum steps were broken at the dealership and they are sending new ones.
Going light is one thing but equipment has to better than this. Disappointed Newby at this point.

If you have "disconnected" the battery cables from the battery terminals then the inverter could only have power if your shore power cable is plugged into the AC.

did you disconnect the negative cable for each battery? do you have 2 batteries? 12 volt in parallel? No way for the batteries to power anything if the ground is truly disconnected.

Does the inverter have a built in lithium battery like the goal zero? maybe to smooth the input?

Sorry, I thought Batts were dead but tested them today and 13.4 or so.
Still no DC in trailer. Can't understand why. Fuses ok.

Any idea?

Good to hear the batteries are okay. It is important that you take care not to let them discharge below 12 volts if you can help it and never ever below 11.5 they are fully charged at about 12.7 and when the converter/charger is connected will show 13.2 or higher depending on the charge mode. If you find them dead or low, get them charging as quickly as possible. The converter will charge and maintain the batteries whenever connected to shore power.

So there is a Store/Use switch near the door. It removes power to most items, but not the inverter, jack, propane detector, brakes.

Sounds like yours is set to store. Push Use and listen for a modest to loud click of the relay pulling in. The light on the switch panel should go on. If this does not do as described you have an issue. come back for some help.

There are numerous neg and pos cables connected to the batteries. Make sure you have ALL the negative cables disconnected. Also the inverter should run, even with batteries connected, unless you turn it on with the inverter button.
