Converter fan running... batteries fried... batteries replaced... fan still running!

Hey gang...

I know this is an oldie but a goodie, but I'm stumped. We switched out the batteries today in our 2016 Flying Cloud 25'. They were due and had crapped out while in storage. Prior to the switch the converter fan was running constantly, which we realized was a symptom of the battery problem.

For about 20 minutes after we installed the new batteries, the fan was off, and we left the run errands. Since we returned, which was around an hour and half ago, the fan is on and hasn't cut off. We are plugged into 50 amp shore power and the batteries are reading 13.6. Is it paranoia, or is there still an issue?

Thanks!

Holly

It may not be long enough to say for sure, It is possible the new batteries were a bit low and are taking enough of a charge to keep the converter a bit warm. Give it 6-10 more hours, if the fan is still on there may be something going on.

I think everything is back to normal. We tried the breaker for the converter. Basically just shut it down for a bit and then re-engaged. The 12v system is acting as it should as is the fan. When all else fails, unplug it then plug it back in!
