DC power STOPPED- 77 Overlander

I have several problems with my 77 Overlander:

1.When hooked into shore, no shore and into the tow vehicle , I do not have any 12v working components that work (interior lights)

2. When hooked up to the tow vehicle the outside trailer lights work but no interior lights.

3. The electric 12v ball hitch thingy lifts the trailer

Here’s what I know, only the left side battery charges with the converter (13v). The right side doesn’t charger when hooked in either the shore line or tow truck. I replaced the fuse for the right side battery. The system is original.

I replaced the 30amp main breaker but still no 12v power. I don’t want to buy a new charger until I fix this problem.

Where is the converter located. The 12v board is located behind the front seat but I can’t find the converter. I can here it humming.

Don't understand what you mean by left side charging and right side not charging.
Do you have 2 batteries? Are they not located together?
What 12 volt things work in the coach? Besides the tongue jack.
Lights, fans, water pump etc.

First thing is to check your batteries and see if they are charging, and holding a charge. Have you checked the fluid level in the batteries? Your converter is probably the old Univolt, and if so, replace it now. There are fuses on the univolt on some trailers, some have a seperate board with 12 volt fuses. You have to remember that you have 2 seperate electrical systems in your trailer. 120 volt and 12 volt. All interior lights are 12 volt, as is the furnace fan, ceiling fans, A/C control board and fridge control board. Your 120 volt powers the wall plugs, A/C compressor and fans, fridge when on 120 volt not propane. You have a seperate 120 volt load centre with breakers. Your converter plugs into a wall outlet and is supplied power from 120 volt shore power, converting to 12 volts to the batteries. Your tow vehicle connections powers all the exterior lights, electric brakes and a tiny amount to the batteries. The weakest link in your 12 volt system is the old Univolt, which oveercharges and boils batteries. Hope this helps! Chris
