During a chit-chat with a camper in an A-Liner at Cane Creek, AR, I mentioned that we were on day 20-something of camping. She responded that she was on month 20 or 21...with two cats...in an A-Liner.
I do love the simplicity of the A-Liner. And the fact that you can tow it with just about anything.

A summary of our trip this summer. May-Oct.
After we finished the complete re-build of our 56' Caravanner our goal was to take a road trip out to the south west. The only stop planned was "Big Bend National Park " in Texas. How we got there was planned stops...after we got there it was where do we want to go next. After making that decision we always made reservations and most of the time we were glad we did.
The majority of our campsites were RV parks with a dozen or so state and COE properties. A 1/2 dozen boondocks and Harvest Hosts.
The Ram 1500 towed the 3800# Airstream for 6,500 miles of the total and when pulling averaged around 12.5 mpg. We kept the speed around 60. Except for leaving Florida and coming home. We only towed 100 to 150 miles when moving to the next spot. Averaging at least 4 day stay and more if we liked the area.
Basically we spent a month in Texas hill country and west Texas. A month in the west area of New Mexico and the rest of the time in Colorado and Utah.
Click on this link to see exactly where we went.
https://maps.roadtrippers.com/?a3=t!...copy&z=4.53071
No major problems with the camper or truck. We did buy a small fan and heater to supplement the A/C and heat pump. Hot in Texas and New Mexico and cold nights in Colorado.
Total cost of the trip was approx. $10,500 gas and rv parks. Food is not included since we eat no matter where we are. Used a bag of ice/day.

We just got ours on 8 November (write up forth coming). The total for November will be 6 days (two 3 day weekends getting her home with 5 days at the ceramic coater in the middle). Depending on weather, we might try a long weekend in December.

When we bought the Airstream in early 2020, our goal was to use it for a minimum of 20 days per year. Anything less than that, and it isn't worth keeping it. How many Airstream days did you have in 2021? For those of you still out on the road, how many days will you have?

We were on the road for 4 months, thus spent 120 days in our AS, with 1 trip left in December for 3 nights.

Due to several intervening factors, I was only able to camp in my '72 Airstream a total of seven days away from home this year. Even so, I would never think it was "not worth keeping" even if it only sat in my driveway and not hauled camping anywhere! It is enjoyable and usable right in the driveway, for many reasons, even when not at a campsite!

We were out over half the year though. Here are the States we hit along the way:
Texas,
Oklahoma,
Louisiana,
Mississippi,
Florida,
Kansas,
New Mexico,
Colorado,
Wyoming,
South Dakota,
Utah,
Montana,
Missouri,

and Oklahoma,
I may have forgotten a few one night stays along our path. Needless to say it was a busy year for use. We really enjoyed it all.

Stationary Bliss
Not a single night on the road However, we spent many nights in our lovely 74 just because we live in a beautiful isolated valley setting and sometimes it's just fun to go out there and watch a movie and "pretend". It's a favorite sleep over space for the 3 grand kids- so many memories made without leaving the driveway!!We are truly blessed with this beautiful property However, we ARE absolutely planning to get out more next year. We have family all across the country we have been missing since you know what hit. Peace y'all!

145 nights so far this year...17 more to go. 10,379 miles to date in 2021. From Florida to everywhere East of the Mississippi. Gotta get West of the Mississippi next year, or for sure in 2023 on the way to International in Wyoming.

144 so far and will end up at 150.
We started with Canopener, did three caravans (GA On My Mind, Springtime in KY, and Oregon Trail), went to International, visited friends, and went on a long weekend trip with friends. Lots of miles & smiles.
Our last 6 planned days are starting on Dec 26 where we head down to to Canopening (pre-Canopener) ;-)
Our daughter observed that we're "never at home" and offered to turn our house into an Air-B&B. We live on a mountain in North GA with a beautiful view. After considering her offer for about a nanosecond I turned it down :-)

About twenty-five… now winterized until March when we attend the ACI Region 11 rally in Casa Grande, AZ. We attended 5 local WBCCI rallies and camped at several places in Utah (Kanab, Moab, Fremont Indian SP, Monument Valley, Fish Lake), Arizona (North Rim), Las Vegas, and Oceanside, CA. About average usage vs prior years since buying our trailer (used) in 2015.
Looking forward to traveling next year to Oregon, Wyoming, and Idaho for various outings, plus many of our favorites in Utah.
Regards - Ron

Winterized, but ready to go
We are winterized, but already have an early Spring getaway scheduled, Cape Henlopen State Park. We are also headed to Maine for the WBCCI rally. I was wondering who else was headed to the rally? May have a Philly special surprise for those of you that track me down there.
Cheers!
Matt
