Proper repair of this tear

I need to fix these two holes before rains start. I have a 1961 Tradewind 24. One is the endcap, the other is above the windows on street side. They were caused by burning awning falling on this side. Suggestions??Click image for larger version

Buy a small piece of alclad, cut out some patches and rivet in place. Put heavy bead of sealant under the patch all the way around.

There is an appropriate electric shock delivered to the button pushing offender...

This is a picture of all the damage. The PO had parked next to another RV and somehow the awning caught fire and crashed on the Airstream. It burned the shroud and the Solordome. This is his account of what happened....

Looking at the whole thing at once, I would probably replace two of the endcap panels, the roof panel above the windows, and at that point I would probably replace the next sheet down.

It’s all flat aluminum, which will keep cost down, but of course most all of the interior will need to be pulled out too.

In the end, that could be a very nice trailer though.

By the way, you need to read “Burnside Bob’s” thread about reclaiming an Airstream from the fire monster...

The end cap segments shown are compound curved and are very hard to come by, very very hard to duplicate and even giant patches would require some skill and specialized tools. I guess it depends on your ultimate goal for this trailer.

A painted Airstream might be the easiest and cheapest way out.

Except,,, really, I intend on painting an Airstream. I bought a worn out one that was already painted just for that cause.

Ok, I have to know...Painting as in a Fine Art Painting or painting like an Airplane or building? I'm old enough to remember the hippies in their many colored buses and VW Vans....lol
