Hello all, I'm in the middle of a 1978 airstream tradewind full monte remodel and am finishing up the rough in electrical.
I am reusing some of the original wiring and have mostly but am a bit stumped on on 2 things from the original electrical.
1- there are no
12V orange wires running from the front of the original distribution panel/battery. However beginning at the old control center there are a number of orange wires that ran all the way to a switch in the old rear bath. As well as one leg that appears to have been run to the old hot water heater. (See pictures posted at the end)..
It appears from my research in the 1978 manual that the orange wires were for the pump, and sure enough the switch in the rear bath says pump. However, there is also a switch on the main control board that says pump, why two? Additionally, where were the orange lines drawing power from? My tracer doesn't find a connection between any of the wires coming from the distribution pane/batteryl and the rear orange lines? Would this have been powered through the old control center? And thus without the old board it has no power? I will still need power to the water heater, and would love to reuse this run since it is already in the right location , but need to determine how it gets power since I won't be using the old control panel.
