Unusual 12V DC Distribution Wires

I rewired my 12V distribution panel with a SafetyHub 150 this weekend and got rid the "rat's nest" of wires and the short stop fuses. In the process, I came across a red and a black, 8 or 10 AWG wires protruding from the wall where the harness wires come out. The ends of the wires were looped back on themselves and heavily taped to cover the ends. These wires are significantly larger than any others coming out of the wall in this group (except white 10 AWG ground wires).

I cannot find any wires in the diagrams I have from Airstream that are this heavy. Anybody have any idea what they are for? I though they might be for a slide-out circuit, but the drawing I have for a S/O does not show them.

I guess I'll just tuck them back into the wall...

For my model in 2004, the prewires were supposed to come out in the frig area and be green and yellow. These are weird in that they are such a heavy gauge wire, from the front wall and red/black.

Its snowing today, but maybe I can snap a picture of them in the next couple of days.

Soalr wires? also yellow?

Here are pics from my "rats nest" before I also rewired and organized. If you don't have solar you can see from my pictures that the red and black heavy wires would go to the controller along with a yellow wire from the roof top junction box.

After seeing your pictures, I would have to agree with both of you guys that it must be part of the solar prewire. It will be interesting to see if I can find the other ends of these wires next spring. There is no junction box on the roof so they must have tucked them into something somewhere... If they are 8 AWG, maybe I can use them if I ever put any panels on the roof. Right now, I have 400 watts of portables.

Thanks!

I had a moment of clarity and looked at the index in my manual. Low and behold, there on page G-34 is an explanation that includes the wires I found and you guys identified. Attached is the page from the manual explaining what and where.

Thanks for your help!!
