Question Maybe a short?

Have 3 month old 25FC FBQ with a small lighting problem.

The little light by the sewer dump valve comes on for no reason. We noticed this about a week after purchase and thought we didn’t turn it off, although we didn’t remember turning it on. Come back to campsite at night and it’s on. Started paying attention to it during daytime and sometimes it’s on then, too.

At first we thought it was tied into another switch in error, like the porch step light or the shower light. But, nope, there is no rhyme or reason.

If anyone has experienced this and can give suggestions we’re all ears.

Thanks

There's a thread around here about this...seems like lots of other folks have had this happen.

If water is getting into the 7 way that could cause the gremlin. One of my tail lights would be glowing, I changed the way I stored it on the lift jack with a Husky Brand storage rack that keeps water out, been good since. It’s available on Amazon, inexpensive.

Hi

If this is one of those "click the light" to turn it on gizmos and it's outside the trailer:

1) As you go down the road, there can be a lot of wind and debris. On some of these lights it does not take a lot of force to get them to cycle on or off.

2) If there are dogs and kids running around, having one or the other bump into the light is not outside the range of what's possible.

3) No device like this is ever perfect. It cold be that the shock and vibration of bumping down the road is enough to get the example you have turned on.

4) It could be haunted

All those ideas sound good, however, we noticed the light on only while we are camped. We have been living in our AS while waiting for a house to be built, which is also taking forever.

Slow poke Pete gave me a link where there are at least a dozen other posts about the same problem. The thing I noticed is that they are all 2022 model campers of all description and size. So, maybe Jackson Center got a bad batch of lights.

Of all the possible things that could go wrong this is the least of our worries. Keep the ideas coming. Thank you

My theory is the vibration from the water pump turns mine on.

Ours goes on while sitting unmolested in our yard. No vibrations, no kids, no nothing. Maybe it is so sensitive that a breeze can turn it on.
