Battery Disconnect Switch Location

I see a lot of comments about adding battery disconnect switches. Where are folks mounting the switches? Ours is a 27ft FB Twin Flying Cloud.

Keeping it simple, I installed a switch similar to this to the battery negative terminal. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Everstart...&wl13=&veh=sem

Mount it inside the battery box at the source. That is both easiest and most convenient.

Blue Sea marine grade switch all the way. Gold standard. $30 bucks.

Another owner (Mollysdad) and I have been working together to come up with a way to mount the switch external to the battery box in a plastic connection box mounted to the battery box. The advantage of this method is that it does not take up any room in the battery box enabling you to fill that box with the biggest batteries you can fit in there. It also makes it easier to maintain flooded cells with water. The switches are for marine use, so they are waterproof. I agree that Blue Sea is the gold standard. I'm using the 6007 model which is small and provides for being able to disconnect both the airstream and inverter separately.

I’ve done it both ways. Inside and exterior mount. I kinda prefer inside if you have the space.

When I mounted to the exterior I simply fastened to the battery box using 2 long bolts that run through the blue sea switch housing.

I also prefer a 4 position switch for flexibility and control over the inverter power.
