Wife and I really want to become part of the AS world, and am amazed at the AS forum world. We're not owners yet but we're looking for a 280 MH. Have found one in Idaho but how do we get it to Virginia?

welcome vasellers! we have a 28' excella and we love it. we just got ours a few weeks ago. ours was a few states away and we just drove there and i followed my husband while he drove it home. of course, there were some things that had to be worked on, but it was absolutely worth the effort. is the motorhome driveable? if not, if you use the search feature and put in shipping a motorhome you might get some answers. i know some members have even found information about shipping their airstreams to other countries. this is a very helpful group of people, i'm sure you'll get an answer to your question. good luck, hope it works out for you!

Welcome to the Forums, and best of luck in your search. You'll find a lot of good Airstream information here.

Wecome from a fellow Virginian, vasellers.
You may get some focused answers if you provide more information, such as whether the rig runs or not. As far as your purchase decision, there may be a member who lives nearby and can take a look at it for you also.
Good luck with your adventure!

MH is supposedly "perfect" and roadworthy. Owner going to have it "serviced" at local shop, bearings greased and fluids/filters changed. Sounds like a mature owner who has taken great care of his AS. The drive from ID to VA would be a lOOOONNNNGGGG drive, and as much as I'd love to drive it home, I don't have that much time off work. Shipping or having it driven might be the only way to pull it off. Thanks for the warm welcomes by the way!!!

Drive
I-84 to I-15 to I-80 to I-25 to I-70 to I-64 .
Nice drive. I did most of it last fall.
If you cannot drive, hire somone. Shipping something that large will be expensive.

Vasellers, welcome to the forums and good luck on your quest to get your prize home. I think Michelle is right. If you can't make it out to Idaho, hiring a driver would be less expensive overall.

Welcome to the forums from another Virginian. Being from Virginia Beach, do you know Paula Ford? Best of luck finding you Airstream.

This is the "best" Airstream group... helped me find mine, helped me when I got it home.... and met some great folks at the WBCCI Sarasota rally.... You'll have fun here and learn alot, too!!!
