Greetings to All. The BF & I just purchased Hi Ho. She is currently parked out back, getting the once (twice, thrice...) going over. She is in pretty good shape, i.e. no water damage, squishy floor, etc. Hope to have her ready for the trip up north to P.S. (Port Susan....not Palm Springs ) by next weekend.

I will be on here ALOT for advice, so "pre-Thanks" to all.

Welcome to the forum and to the 70's model 'streams! You're very lucky to have little if no damage. Most trailers in this age range require some shape or form of significant repair. Post a few photos! Folks here love to see pictures.

Congrats! This weekend you're missing one of the best NW rallys of the year, in Trout Lake, WA. We have several throughout the year. Lots of great folks in the region.

I am going to head out to give Hi Ho a good inside scrubbing down. What are the best cleaning products to use on on the various surfaces? Mostly original, except for fridge, and gaucho is gone, replaced by futon (arghhh!) Oxidation on stove and stove cover, oven pretty nasty!

I just use a little dish soap with warm water for cleaning. Future floor wax apparently does a great job on the interior skins. I've not tried it yet though.

We did not get much actual cleaning done today. Oh well, the best laid plans, etc. Took out 2 lawn & leaf bags of "presents" from PO's, working from the head forward. Hindered by the fact that the BF had to examine every single peice of detrius for 10 minutes before it hit the trash, "in case it is an important part we may need later." I think he is taking to this well! Happy to report he is still ambulatory and headed out with Mr. Paco (our Chi) on a Gatorade run.

Downers: rained pretty hard here last night (for Seattle) and I discovered a puddle on the bathroom sink counter. Now, we know what is next on "the list." Discovered a soft spot in the floor on the front street side, number 2 with a bullet.....needs new flooring anyway. Note to self: need a bigger notebook for Hi Ho List of Things to Do.

On the upside, we introduced Sagie, our old girl kitty, Finbar (aka Fatbar, Fartbar) our Manxie and the above mentioned Mr. Paco to Hi Ho. They appeared to take to her immediately, so I am almost sure she is not haunted......only almost.

Tank inspection this evening, somethings are just better in the dark.

if you bathroom layout is similiar to ours, we had water on our counter and first thought it was the seal between the window frame and the skin, so sealed that, few days later, water in the same location. Turns out the rubber material around the glass (seating the glass into its frame) had broken down, water was going leaking down by the latches into the window frame and coming out the latches onto the counter. We got your left over clouds last night and today (which had tons of water left in em by the way) and we were happy to find after a half dozen small leaks intitially we're all dry. We did all window frames things passing through the roof (vents, antenna etc) as well as the belt line trim front and rear. On a side note, unless they changed it, almost all of our wood rot issues seemed to come from areas where the beltline seal (top side only) wasn't kept up.

Looks like you got a nice unit though, far better than most people's just purchased...

We're just up the road in Marysville and have a very similar AS, '73 31' Excella 500. Only had it for about 2 months and sounds like our to-do list is about the same as yours (will be?).
