New 2009 27 FB Ocean Breeze Owner
Well, almost a new owner. I pick the trailer up in a couple of days. Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a Marine Helicopter Pilot who will be full timing with my upcoming move to Pensacola, FL to be an flight instructor. After returning about three weeks ago from my deployment to Afghanistan as a Forward Air Controller I'm selling my house in NC and will be moving into the Airstream in several weeks. I'm single so that it easier to move into an Airstream after living in a house.
I grew up in South Florida with a family that pulled an Airstream all over the east coast when I was growing up. My older brother lived in an Airstream 30' for three years and though he no longer lives in it he still pulls it around the south. I'm no stranger to Airstream's but this is the first one I have owned.
I look forward to using this forum and living in the Airstream.

Congratulations! And welcome home. That sounds like a great plan and it sounds like you will be able to get some advise from your brother. Good luck and keep us posted and the move.

Congratulations and welcome! And also welcome to northwest Florida. There are a number of us (I'm in Panama City) around if you need anything. There's also a big rally called the CanOpener Rally in early January at Topsail Hill State Park near SanDestin, Florida (about 2 hours east of Pensacola). This is a fun rally that you won't want to miss.

FLMarine, welcome to Forums, Airstreaming, and full-timing. We love all three, and full-timing the best. Four years into it and no plans to quit.
Great location, I formerly had a mother-in-law in Warrington, worked disbursements office at NAS. Great base, Pensacola and Pensacola Beach are still favorites of mine.
Let us know if ever any questions we can help with,
regards, Jim http://dreamstreamr.com

Semper Fi,
I just introduced myself yesterday. Former Marine Corps Helicopter pilot also...way back when CH-46's were still new. We might be heading to Pensacola in the next year...can't see the Naval Air Museum too many times.

Congrats, good choice, you will definitely enjoy it. We picked our 2010 27FB up last June, and although far from full timing, have 33 nights in it so far since then. No major problems, a couple minor things, but nothing to sweat about.
Enjoy -
Steve

Oh hooray, I'm not the only military servicemember full-timing!
I'm on the verge of doing exactly the same thing as you. I'm halfway through a 3 year tour here in Georgia, and may be here longer, too, but I don't particularly want to buy a house in this area.
Best of luck to you, and congrats! I hope to hear more about how it goes for you, and any tips you come across as you start out with your own home on wheels.

Thanks for posting the pics. What I great trailer! I think I recognize the trailer from the Classifieds here at AirForums. Is that where you found it? Anyway, lucky you for finding such a fabulous trailer.

Congrats on the new babie!! We have the same one,but Cilantro. Great idea for full timing as a single active duty member!! now when the hurricanes come knocking, you can just tow your home away.
Funny...my son called the Marine recruiter inquiring about flight school last week! Any advice, please PM me!
Enjoy your little piece of heaven and thanks so much for your service! We too are retired USAF and Pensacola is a stop for us going west!
See you on the road...or at least Pensacola FamCamp!

Congrats - after spending one summer in Pensacola in Aircrew school, then 3 1/2 years there while in the Blue Angels - I was grateful for the weekend air shows so to get out of town as the summers are so hot and humid....
Guess my point is - on my 2009 '25FB Classic the A/C struggles a bit when hot and humid - maybe since your full timing it - perhaps look for some cover for your 'Stream to help reflect a little sun? Luckily - the 2011 Classic I'm bumping up to has two A/C units for my vists to the home of Naval Aviation.
Enjoy - both the 'Stream & Pensacola.
