Hi Bill!
Soooooooooooo - loved the Toureg very, very much (I had the TDI) but with my 25FB was right on the envelope as it pertains to weight, pleanty of torque and with the ProPride hitch, never had an issue with sway, rock stable all over the US over mountains, hills, plains with big winds, etc.
BUT - I could never really load much into the trailer, and in fact I went around with my Propane tanks half full, all becuase of the tounge weight of my trailer.
The T-Rex is perfect for a 23 or smaller - but anything bigger and I would go with a F-150 or 1500 (F-150 has the new EcoBoost V6 - as close to a diesel as one can get yet still burn petro).
