minimum aluminum, new member

Hello friendly Airstream Forum,
This is my first post, though I've checked out this site for many years. I am the proud owner of a 1972, 22 ft Safari which I've been restoring for about two years. I live in rural New Mexico and do a lot of camping with my two children and wife. Our favorite spots are either in the Gila Widerness or near Taos, New Mexico. We've taken numerous trips out to California (Lone Pine, Death Valley, Santa Barbara coast) and to Maine with our camper. I purchased our Airstream from a mortician in Sacrameto who bought it new in 1973. It looked Like a time capsule from 1972 when very little visible wear. I'm looking into this forum for some ideas on how to clean and perhaps polish the exterior. I'm not sure how my heater is supposed to work, since I've never gotten it to run using the obvious intuitive tinkering.
Looking forward to being an active member in this forum!

Marcos

Welcome aboard. The more the merrier. Learn to use the search tool on the blue tool bar - you should find a lot of info about 70's era heaters, including , unfortunately - a recall.
