70's wrap removal and exposed flooring edges

I am in the process of replacing some rotted subfloor below the back window in my rear bedroom. This is a center bath 1979 31' and while I am at this, my plan is to remove all belly skin aft of the holding tanks, and the bottom wraps aft of the wheel wells. This is for inspecting and repairing the frame if required, and at least giving it a fresh coat of paint.

Now I had expected the subfloor to be inserted into channels around the perimeter. As of now I only have the rearmost 3' of floor exposed, top and bottom, and it just goes under the base channel for the shell. Therefore, removing the wraps I suppose the edges of it will be exposed.

I will only be replacing the rearmost section of subfloor. Side to side and 4' deep from factory floor seam to under the base channel at the rear.

My concern is that flooring between there, and to the back of the wheel wells, the edges will be exposed to possible rain, over the week or whatever that it takes to get all the work done before putting it back together.

Am I correct that the edge of the existing subfloor will be exposed? Cover it temporarily with foil tape? Maybe treat it with epoxy before putting everything back together?

BTW I already have a plan for properly flashing the rear end bumper lid to body thing, covered by another message thread.

Yes, the edge of the subfloor will be exposed. This would be a great place to put a water resistant coating on the plywood. Regardless of your modifications, there are plenty of ways for water to get into the shell. When it does, it usually ends up soaking the edge of the subfloor.

Treating it with epoxy or poly at this stage is very low cost, very high return.
