Pioneer radio---no AM/FM reception.

I recently and very happily took delivery a new 2014 airstream 30 ft. Flying Cloud. I'm having a problem with the Pioneer radio. Simply put, I have no AM/FM reception. I've made certain the Local/Distance switch is in the off position(and tried all other positions as well) and the radio is otherwise properly set up. I've also made certain that the roof top antenna is securely in place. In order to determine if the antenna was properly connected to the radio, I attempted to remove the radio from it's housing. I successfully removed the faceplate but cannot seem to figure out how to remove the radio trim ring. I believe this is necessary in order to use the supplied keys to remove the radio and check the connections. I really hate to tow the Stream back to the dealer but will do so if necessary. I know the Pioneer system is new to airstream but was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem or could offer any helpful thoughts. Thanks.

The trim ring just snaps on, so some gentle prying will be necessary to remove it.
Maybe try bowing it from the top and bottom to determine where the tabs are.
Once one tab is loose the whole trim ring will come right off.
Do other sources work?
You should have AM reception even with the antenna unplugged. The whip antenna is for FM only. The AM antenna is built in.
I wonder if the tuner portion of your stereo isn't working at all.

A dealer problem to resolve. Put it on the list with the other things which probably will crop up in the next month or so. Radio reception is not too critical in the global order of things....grin. It can wait a bit.

All other systems function perfectly. It's just the radio tuner that doesn't work.

I have pulled the head unit and checked all connections. Everything seems fine. I still have no AM and very limited FM radio reception. I talked to a friend who also owns a new airstream and is having the same problem with his pioneer radio. Before going back to the dealer for warranty repair I'm wondering if anyone has other trouble shooting suggestions. Thx.

Seems like the tuner just doesn't work.
Apparently the switch to Pioneer was in the 2014 model year. My 2013 has a Sony, and it works great.
