How to use a headset on audio?
Has anyone figured out how to hook up a headset, bluetooth or otherwise, to be able to listen to TV or Audio while your spouse is sleeping?
I have tried two different bluetooth headsets on the SONY and although a guy at SONY told me it should work, it seems that bluetooth is for audio input. The TV nor the SONY have headphone jacks. The TV has a USB connection but the manual indicates that is for media play, pictures or music input. I have run out of ideas.

Bluetooth uses distinct protocols for different things, and devices are set up to use the protocols in different modes (source vs. client). For stereo audio, the protocol is A2DP and from what you describe, it seems that the head unit has implemented this only as a client, expecting you to use an A2DP source to feed audio to it.
There are various A2DP transmitters on the market that you might be able to wire into the output side of the stereo to provide a bluetooth source. I seem to remember some of them being more problematic than others (this topic exists on the forums already, if memory serves.)

There might be an aux jack on the back of the SONY that I could plug a bluetooth transmitter into. But, AS builds a nice clean install for the SONY and I would have to fish wires into the SONY box from the area next to it. It may not be worth the trouble. Thanks.

No go
No, there is no aux output jack on anything. This is a car stereo and for all I know the govt prevented the inclusion of headphone jacks to avoid driver distraction. But the TV does not have audio output either. I suppose I could find an RCA Y and tap into the speaker outputs from the Sony but all of the bluetooth transmitters I looked at require charging of some sort. I think this is just too hard for the AS design and my wife will have to live with it...unless anyone has a brilliant idea.

USB ports are input/output devices that also charge. Regardless of what it's intended for, you can still use it to charge a Bluetooth device. I have used a television USB port to charge my iPod.
Also, I have a set of headphones for use with my laptop that have a USB plug instead of the typical RCA stereo plug. Got it at Best Buy in the computer gaming section, not the audio section. I haven't tried using it with my Airstream's television, but you might consider something like that.

Already tried that. I have a USB headset. Does not work. I suspect that Samsung has no TV audio going to that port since it is specifically designed for input of pictures/music files. I have no doubt that it provides power.
The nutso thing is that the smaller TV in the bedroom has an audio out jack for a headphone. But, I want a headphone on the bigger TV in the living area while my wife is asleep in the bedroom.
