What vacuum do you keep in your AS?

I bought the Electrolux when we had a Class-C with carpet and vinyl. I kept it under one of the dining benches. It was better than nothing.
I started using it in the house when we sold our RV. I fell in love with for my hardwood floors.

When we purchased our CCD I didn't have room for it and more importantly I did not want to quit using it my house. So, I purchased a Black and Decker Pivot.

It takes up less space than the Electrolux and was a great addition to my folding broom and shortened Swifter. It is more powerful than the Electrolux.

Now I have a Westy and I only carry the folding broom. The Swifter has had its missing piece installed and is now full length and can permanently be found in our pool house. The Pivot is in there too but I still use it to clean the Westy between trips.

I have decided to move the Pivot full-time into the Westy and will put in an unused space behind the closet that is accessible from the rear passenger side door. The bonus is that there is an outlet there and the Pivot will be able to charge when we are plugged into a land line or use our generator.

The channels in the floor for sliding the sofa/bed and holding the table leg quickly fill with debris and you can only vacuum them clean. Plus the molding around the counter tops and table make it difficult to get all the crumbs without a vac. I think it will be a nice addition to the tiny Westy.

Hi, I bought this little Eureka from Wal-Mart; It was about $25.00, it runs on 120 volt power, the handle collaspses, it can be used as a handheld or upright, and takes very little space. I keep it in a storage container, under my gaucho, with several other things.

We use one of two uprights we have - an Electrolux or a Dyson.
Whichever one we take, it gets stored either in the clothes closet or the shower...depending on how full the closet is.

We found this little Dyson Dyson DC26 Multi floor Vacuum Cleaner | Dyson.com at Best Buy. It's quite a bit smaller than the DC23, it actually fits under the sink in front of the water heater. It performs much better than the battery units that we tried. We had a handheld Dirt Devil which worked well but too much time on the knees. This little vacuum is so tiny it looks like a toy but the performance is for real.

This is the one I hope to eventually get. Thanks for the review. It seems like a great quality product. I hope they come out with an "Animal" version of this machine. The Animal hand-held seems too awkward for me -- like you said, too much time on the knees.

We use the little Dyson hand held vac - doesn't take up much space and is a great little sucker! Wish thW rechargeable batts would last longer though, we take a spare battery.

We sweep it during/after trips and then vacuum it a couple of times a year. Not knocking what others do at all, but when we sold our SOB we decided to keep things as "lean" as possible in the AS. We were just lugging too much stuff around :-0.

We carry a small Red Devil but rarely use it. Mostly I just sweep and vacuum when we get home.

Here is a grate little Hoover vacuum for the trailer.It is only 11 inches wide.Uses a can with filter so no bag.
Hose can be used with tool to vacuum around toilet, ect.
Realy does pick up and cleans well
About $ 60 at Wal-Mart.

Thanks for all the input... Decided to go with the Dewalt Cordless 1/2 gallon vacuum after it was all said and done. Fit the "dustbuster" size requirement with a flex hose capability and still has the vesitility of wet/dry shop vac strength... Plus I've got a heap of these battery packs from my hand tool collection. Here she is, freshly shipped from an ebay seller!

Hi there! I swear by my Dyson DC31 hand vacuum. It comes apart, stores easily and works great -- it picks up everything! I write a small blurb about it on our website: One young couple's Airstream International CCD travel trailer RV adventure | Weaselmouth. Ive tried several -- Dirt Devil canister, and the Dirt Devil Kurve, but nothing compares to the Dyson. It'll cost you, but in my opinion, its worth it.

We have a little bagless Eureka Four-Way, about $25, which works well and easy fits in the closet. It doesn't have much capacity and requires frequent filter cleans. It picks up most stuff, even beach sand and is convenient to use. We also have a broom and dustpan which is used for most of the cleaning jobs. We have no carpet in our trailer and when we are "in" at home, we'll use our Rainbow to give it a thorough cleaning.

After using a hand held Dirt Devil which was quite awkward to use, we switched to a Hoover Porta Power Lightweight. Since we have a Bambi, it rides in a bin in our truck. I have watched the professional cleaning services use these in homes and offices and thought they were on to something. It is easy on the back, has powerful suction and packs up efficiently to a small size. It is easy on the back because of its light weight. I am very satisfied. Cleans rugs well too.
