It’s new to me won’t lift up didn’t want to screw it up maybe I should ask how to remove the dog house or engine cover only lifts up a few inches with seat sideways. Need to prime carburetor!!
I'm not familiar with the exact mechanics of the seat, just wanted to be sure you know that it's a pretty special item, so be careful not to damage it!
The dog house should just tilt back on a hinge, so if the seat is preventing that from happening, there might be another "movement" to get the seat to slide back farther when it's sideways so that it's out of the way of the dog house "lid."
I also read somewhere that the release knobs on the Roto-dinette should always be rotated clockwise.
Here's another thread on the Roto-dinette. Maybe someone from there might have an answer for you?
If someone did retrofit the roto-dinette from a 76 to a 74 the real problem might be the differences in the doghouse itself. The design for the doghouse changed after 76 to a much bulkier style that only opened in the front half. Not sure if it was 76 or 77 when the change took place.
I'll try and post some pictures of the different styles of doghouses today or tonight. Not sure if I have them on my phone or not.

1974 31' Excella trailer (parting out, as of 4/1/2015 I have wheels & windows left to sell)
My bad wife says it is a 75 probably sold in 76 with the body build.
It is original and I have managed to position it to get to the engine. While fooling with the rooto 1 bearing came out.
Still can’t lift seat up and out either one of them seem to be the same
In terms of the 'house' functions, only the Airstream VIN matters, my betting is yours will be something like M20D6Vxxxxx, where the 6 is the model year (1976).
Thanks for your all’s help and input I have managed to get the seat arranged to open the engine compartment.
Still cannot remove the seat I have loosened the Alan bolts and removed collets tried jacking the shaft up etc etc Iam assuming maybe they bolt in thru the bottom once rain quits guess I’ll look there.
